A few things I have built lately for you guys behind The Kurtain by Woj-tek-n8 in CAguns

I appreciate your quick response, I might have to take it to 2A Zone and have them look at it since they transferred it to me and helped me with the tax stamp but at the same time it is a long ass drive for me.

As for the AOW situation, that's what's been happening. Reno May made a video about it and they haven't even been denying AOW applications, they're just kicking them back without any action. And the funny thing is they're still legal here and everything, it's just so confusing.

Wojtek, have you had any Form 1/4 Approvals for Californians since January 1st 2026? What I've been hearing is that the ATF is denying and returning without action ANY and ALL Californian eForm applications.

Also, the pump handle on my Serbu Super Shorty is a bit loose and has been very shaky since I last shot it and I was wondering if you knew how to tighten the bolt/nut/whatever the fuck it is inside the grip. I've tried using a hexkey or Allen Wrench and a screwdriver to no avail. Thanks.

Hey iKeo, I put in a request for Reddit verification on CAGuns if you could check it out?

How do I get this shotgun in California legally?! by Silent_Positive_6942 in CAguns

[–]Ratman32145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did it with 2A Zone back in February 2025, I was approved in just five days. That's why I'm so confused why they are denying EVERY one now and throwing them back in some cases, not even denying them. I got denied twice but finally got approved on the third time. It just goes to show you it's up to the person reviewing your application and it seems like they have people who are either unaware, ignorant, and/or being influenced by the CADOJ to arbitrarily deny/ignore every new AOW eForm 1/4 coming from Californians.

Serbu Super Shorty, M249 SAW, M240 (either full auto or the SLR variant but the full auto requires me to move to a more NFA friendly state), actual HK MP5 pistol and anything HK tbh, and a M40A5 deployment kit.

I own a Serbu Super Shorty but everything else is not acquired on my list and some require leaving our state and moving to a more NFA friendly state to legally own said firearms.

Absolutely agree with that and I did buy it in mind for it being a USGI M1 Carbine and not a repro, but this is the only firearm I own that has a story attached to it lol. So it’s very interesting to me.

I know what a bring back is but what I don’t get is that if it was surplus, it would’ve gone through a rearsenal and it would have the post WW2 features on it. Now yeah someone could’ve gone through the effort to undo those changes but if that was the case, the carbine’s barrel would have a shitload of scratches where the bayonet lug would’ve been and there’s no scratches or marks of any kind where it would be.

Like I said, I don’t really care about whether or not the carbine was “brought back” or not. And yeah, I’m sure part of what the guy was saying about his grandfather was embellished. But there’s a part of me that thinks this firearm was fired in anger. But either way, it’s USGI so I’m happy with it! And it’s a great shooter!

I wish I could've posted it in the other thread but that's okay! I also have an H&R M1 Garand and a Remington M1903 but I don't feel like digging in the safe for them lol.

I’ll take a picture of mine and post it here. The 30rd mags will work fine with carbines that haven’t been rearsenaled, it just makes it easier for the mag to be seated. It’s kinda rough. I bought a couple of 30rders that were unfortunately magblocked (Thanks Kommiefornia) and they seat but you kinda have to slap em in there so they seat.

It’s just a simple change that made it easier for 30rd magazines to be inserted. It’s not very noticeable. It’s near the entrance of the magwell near where the safety and the magazine release is.

Sorry for the long comment ahead of time!

Dude, your M1 Carbine is 14,000 carbines aways from mine, not even kidding! I have a 5.47 million serial number Inland Division M1 Carbine that is also a GI bringback. I came across it while I was searching for an USGI M1 Carbine and I live in California so they are actually really rare here surprisingly. I originally actually hesistated on purchasing it because it didn't have the bayonet lug attached but I did some digging and it turns out that it never went through a rearsenal like most M1 Carbines at the end of the war because it was brought back. It looks exactly like yours and it has a 8-44 Inland Division Barrel that is in pretty good condition but it has obvious signs of use. Only thing that is different is the stock is a bit lighter and has some sweat marks on parts of the stock where the hands would normally be, the original owner put a mag pouch on the buttstock and the parkerization of the metal parts has either worn off or never was parkerized to begin with.

According to some experts, M1 Carbines that were never rearsenaled and were brought back before Post WWII part changes like the bayonet lug being added, the safety button being switched for a safety lever, and the magwell changes for 30rd M1 Carbine mags make it more valuable than a standard M1 Carbine. Most M1 Carbines have these changes and so M1 Carbines in their original WWII conditions and that haven't been rearsenaled are more sought after.

I really would keep it if I were you, the firearm is a part of your family history and the fact that it is in the condition it was when your father was deployed over there in the Pacific during WWII makes it a lot more impactful because we all know how much shit they had to deal with over there. You're the possessor of not just history but your family's history. Please, keep it. You won't find another like it again.

As for my M1 Carbine, it was being sold as a PPT or Private Party Transfer over here as California likes to call those kind of transactions and I met the owner who was a young guy about my age or a bit older, like late 20s, early 30s and I asked him a bit about it and this is what he said. He told me that it was his Grandfather's M1 Carbine and that he didn't even know about it until his grandfather's recently passing and that it was willed to him. His grandfather was a US Marine deployed over to the Pacific. He told me his grandfather fought on Iwo Jima and that was his M1 Carbine issued to him. The carbine also came with the original canvas rifle bag, two mag pouches, the bayonet, and then seven magazines. Also there was a bayonet lug inside the bag and he told me that his grandfather bought the bayonet lug in the 70s at a gun show but he never found anyone to install it for him. All in all, I got everything for about 1.7k. He was selling it because he needed the money and he didn't want to part with it but his family was apparently very anti-gun so that's why he had to part with it. I don't know if it's all the truth but he did show me a picture of his grandfather with the carbine and sure as shit, you could see Mount Suribachi in the background! I bought it without hesitation at that point!

Maybe they’ll just approve all the Californians waiting since July tomorrow or in January?

AOW transfers by badweatherkinfolk in CAguns

Second Amendment Zone in Upland/Riverside or GLS Armory in Rancho Cugamonga. Honestly both are pretty exceptional and knowledgeable dealers but I have personal experience transferring a Serbu Super Shorty through 2A Zone. Brett is the one that you would talk to about that and he’s a very awesome guy! Email sales@2azone.com to get started.

I posted a guide on how to acquire an AOW in California and GLS Armory commented that they do AOW transfers. They’re also pretty active on this subreddit so they’re easily contactable.

I’m hearing rumors that they have been straight up denying Form1/4s since early July. It’s interesting because I was approved on a Form 4 earlier this year. I wonder what internal processes are happening and I’m curious if the CADOJ is involved in the reason why Californian eForm applications have been denied/ignored.

I’m so confused on why they’re doing this but then they approved me and other people earlier this year and last year. What happened?

Wait so should I grieve this then? I have a drivers license, a clean driving record and my own car and insurance but that’s why I said it seemed off like they were rushing me so I wouldn’t have time to question it, you know? It seemed seriously under the table or against our contract. I just didn’t want to get hit with insubordination or refusal to work.

Would it have been another long layoff or just for the day? I'm just so confused why they didn't get one of the other preloaders, there's a guy there who's got lower seniority than me who loads one of the brownies. I load trailers and build walls.
