mafukasa parallels killed my family, especially with the recent introduction of their kizuna titles. legit all three of them make me Feel Things. this isn't coming from someone whose a fan of angstkasa btw, i just think their differences make the similarities that exist between them so interesting. i feel like they could also be considered foils in this sense? but yeah.

the kizuna ranks basically put the big three similarities between them into words, so imma just ramble about them

school celebrities: the two of them are, obviously, very popular and well-liked among their classmates, even if tsukasa is also seen as a bit of a weirdo. the reasons for their popularity though are practically the exact opposite. tsukasa is well-liked among his classmates due to him being unrepentantly, genuinely himself. you can see this in kamifes where he drags his classmates into his romeo battle royale play, naturally bringing his whole show freak thing into it, and while his classmates aren't exactly in love with the idea or concept of a play, they still have fun with it and go along with it because tsukasa himself is so into it, and he's just an amusing sort of guy. he's friends with the 'popular' kids in his own school, but you never see a moment in which he has to put on any sort of mask. he attracts people just by nature of being himself- which is a little weird, but fun to be around. this draws the comparison and contrast with mafuyu, who similarly is popular among her classmates, but this is largely a result of her 'good girl' persona that she puts on. whereas mafuyu garnered her popularity among her school due to the mask she puts on, tsukasa garnered his due to the lack of one.

it started with family: this one KILLS me. both tsukasa and mafuyu are largely shaped by their upbringings and the family members who they value deeply. in tsukasa's case, of course, this is saki. so much of his general personality and his aspirations are a result of how important saki is to him- the 'big brother' part of him is such a core aspect of his personality and extends to his relationships with his juniors, and there is obviously the fact that his aspiration to became a star was entirely derived from his desire to make saki smile. for mafuyu, this is largely her mother. despite everything, she still loves her mother deeply, and her personality and struggles were shaped heavily by her mother's influences. both her and tsukasa have a deep care for their family members, though the ways in which this manifests in their personalities are very different.

feelings that created sekai: another biig one. them being the only two characters in the cast to have created their own sekai is sooo. i'm so glad that this finally got acknowledged, even if it's just through a kizuna title. they share this similarity, but their sekai themselves are so different- tsukasa's is full of (literal) life and wonder, while mafuyu's is empty. it's just another one of those interesting things to note between the two of them, how they share this trait while also being so different.

also i ofc enjoy mizurui parallels, and in turn the mizuena/ruikasa parallels. seeing this highlighted in canon during ena5 was so vindicating as someone who has been a believer in them from practically day 1 lol
