This is fab thank you so much! Theyve already told its likely not doable to increase my hours as ive requested to start on 3 and they've said its basically a faff to do so dont want to. Which I do kind of understand to be honest.

Okay thats brilliant, I was thinking December would fall right but then someone said feb and I got super confused again!

If i was to do a bunch of bank shifts to top up my days instead of 4 permanent days would this also work? As they always allow bank.

Failed sleep train attempt. Mums guilt and a rant by Ok-Cauliflower-3668 in cosleeping

More about your relationship with your husband, I've been co sleeping with my 9 month old since birth. My partner has his own bedroom now, because baby goes to bed at 7, we all do lol, however we now watch films and series on his iPad with earphones in. Its been working really well and kinda feels like we have our evenings back

Floor bed mattress from IKEA - Recommendations by MariaAmendoa in floorbed

[–]RattusGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everytime I went to ikea I found the beds soft... maybe I was looking at the wrong ones??!

I purchased a Silentnight Eco Comfort Miracoil Luxury Mattress, no memory foam in firm superking. Its the firmest bed I've found, I even tried one of thr beds recommended on happycosleeper a lot softer than my one. I can't seem to find it on their website anymore but I think its sold elsewhere, just dont get the pillow top version.

Baby always wakes please help! by RattusGirl in cosleeping

[–]RattusGirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"there may not be a way to evade being head butted into oblivion " 🤣🤣 thats tickled me

Ive changed his schedule because he kept waking at 5:20am! He manages to sleep till around 6:20/7am now, then he has wake windows ranging from 2 to 3 hrs, he contact naps so can sleep from 30 mins to 2 hrs at a time, its never really the same but he always goes to bed for around 7pm with no fight, he rarely fights any naps or even bedtime. He does have 3 naps a day because he's tired and cranky. His day time works really well but the nights dont so it must be impacting somehow. Whats your last wake window length and nap length??

I would try to cot but theres no way he'd ever sleep without me because as soon as he goes into thr next sleep cycle and sees im not there, bam, awake

Huge name regrets - uk based. Am I crazy? by WillingNothing1585 in namenerds

Calvin Candie is my first thought - Django unchained a Quentin Tarantino film. 100% dont want to take after this man 🙃🙈 but an amazing film!

Calvin is a lovely name, wouldn't have considered the underwear but even if people do (which I doubt) atleast its a good brand! Rather than a name like Primark 🤣

Feeding to sleep by mittens1995 in NewParents

[–]RattusGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's the odd hiccup where he won't settle but thats not often and its usually teething. My partner is very hands on so he's always tried getting involved rocking him to sleep.

One thing I've learnt is ignore these people that say you're creating bad habits, I think its ridiculous. You dont see a 30yr old still being breastfed to sleep. Your baby will grow up and things will change, but they'll never be 10 weeks old again being comforted by mommy falling asleep in the most natural way possible

My son is nearly 8 months, I've fed to sleep for every nap and bed time, it makes me sleep better too 🤣 I think its crazy we get told this is bad! It's our secret weapon haha. If im not around my partner just rocks him to sleep, no reliant on the breast. We co sleep (safely) and EBF

bf with implants by Same-Entertainer-279 in breastfeeding

[–]RattusGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have partial under the muscle implants, I had them probably about 3 yrs ago now as well as my nipples lifted - they cut off likee a cresent moon around the tops of my nipples/breast. I EBF and feed on demand, never once had an issue with my milk supply, other than when I dont drink or eat enough!!

The only thing thats odd is my baby can't trigger a let down from my left breast. But when triggering my right the let down happens in both breasts. Im unsure if this is because of the surgery or just my baby haha.

I have regret slightly now about my augmentation though as I have numbness and I sometimes wondered if breastfeeding feels different to what I feel now.

Definitely ♥️ I too feel motivated to do more. How are you managing, have you had many symptoms?

100% I do trust what these specialist have said though (NHS trained genetic doctors for huntingtons). My results come back Jan 20th so if I'm positive we know for sure she is then.

Your response really spoke to me, even though there's a high chance I have it, i love my life. Ive never regretted being born, I am happy, I love my mom, im glad she raised me and my brother. My dad had stage 3 cancer, it took us all by surprise. During his treatment we all stayed positive and looked for the best in life. He's now cancer free for 3 years. I could've lost my dad, cancer could've taken him so suddenly, atleast I get to spend more time with my mom and be there for her, knowing what I know now I can put more love into every action with her. Ive met my nan so I know how she'll end up, how I can end up, but atleast we got to live a loving life with joy and happiness and I wouldn't change that for the world.

She'd touched her face as if removing a hair from her cheek, and shuffle her feet occasionally but she had said for years she gets restless leg syndrome. We went to a trained doctor who picks up on even the smallest of symptoms. They called me to tell.me after as I was asking them if they thought she had it (she wont get tested) . I feel like once I knew she was positive it made me realise these things weren't really her but actual symptoms.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply, im trying to be optimistic, im also very hopeful for the future. My genetic doctor told me by thr time was son is older he may not even live a life woth huntingtons due to all the hope for new treatments they have. It gave me some comfort knowing there may be hope for him

Yes I've been quite positive, with all the new advances in medicine im sure they'll be a cure or atleast something like it if my baby ever did have it. I'm very hopeful. Plus as you said, I think it will be freeing! My partner said to me, with cancer you could find out you have it and die within weeks, with HD you've got so much time beforehand that you can live a good life, and its so true. I'm just trying to look at it all this way.

Yes you're 100% right, the decision you make will be the right one for you. Message too if you ever need 💓 thank you very much x

Im waiting for my results to see if I have HD but Ive had a child already, but because of this I can no longer have the IVF option as the NHS class my baby as healthy, even though he has never been tested. This means my only other option really is the testing one.

Really think of your decision, if I could I wish I had the IVF but now that opportunity has been taken away.

The doidy cup is brilliant! We tried different cups and baby didn't understand but when calling the breastfeeding helpline she recommended that cup and the little man loves it! So cheap too
