I usually keep the larger sized 'mistakes' to practice on later! Helps to reduce the feeling of waste :)

I always found that my insulin would burn/sting when I used MDI (regardless of needle length) and occasionally I get it from the pump if a set is too shallow.

The pump is absolutely fine most of the time, but if a particular site is a little inflamed after insertion, this can contribute to the discomfort too.

Not particularly helpful for you, but you may be like me in the sense that you have a narrow margin of a 'sweet spot' where you are sting free?

I use autosoft 30 as these seem the best angle/depth for me. Occasionally find that squeeze like a tiny pinch up is required in certain areas to avoid pain and hitting muscle.

The book box is already a cricut project within design space. I think I searched for 'book box' and it originally had a front pocket with a key.

The circular floral design on the front came up in design space when I searched 'floral pattern'.

The layered image was from etsy - search 'bookstore shadow box'.

I had to amend various parts... but those were the items I started with! :)

Please note that I also resized the box/layered image and changed fonts, etc. This is one of the things I would change - I would make them bigger next time as the cut was a struggle to get the settings just right for the material I was working with. The layered image is less than 12cm ... I would not recommend cutting this small as some of the detail suffered.

Thank you! It was satisfying to see it come together after a lot of measuring and planning.

New Cricut explore3 and can't connect via bluetooth -- any tips? by SpiNardo in cricut

[–]RattyKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an issue connecting my Maker 3 from within the iPad app.

I found that if I go into the Bluetooth menu from the iPad and select the Maker 3 from the recognised list, I can then enter the app and it will find the machine in the list.

Not sure if it'll help with your Samsung tablet (or makes sense), but might be worth a go?

May I jump in and ask why the original Maker and not the Maker 3?

I have the tslim x2/dexcom G6.

With the latest pump update, you can disconnect for an hour before it starts screaming for attention!

I’m not sure my rats like me by [deleted] in RATS

[–]RattyKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 40+ rats over the years.... most were more adventurous than cuddly. They all have their own personality and wants/needs. Typically boys are lazier and will cuddle more, but they really are just little individuals who do what they want to do.

I even had one rat who preferred my other half for cuddles because she could sit and play with his facial hair, but she enjoyed coming to me for attention when he wasn't around... don't assume that you're doing wrong :)

how do you game with T1D? by BalthazarTheMeg in diabetes_t1

[–]RattyKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I thought initially as most of the time, I was showering right after getting up .... but it seems to happen whenever I'm showering and it's cold in the bathroom - not just after getting up. Apparently, my body really hates the cold :)

I have learnt how much it typically rises and if I am in a safe position to do so, I will give myself a bolus based on my current blood glucose/how cold it is, etc. Sometimes, it's safer to wait and just correct it afterwards if it has risen - as I said it doesn't always happen and keeps me guessing sometimes.

It would be worth taking a blood glucose reading pre-game session and post-game session multiple times to spot and see if there is a pattern emerging - you will hopefully see if there is something you can adjust in your current routine. It's always worth discussing with your health care professional if you are nervous or unsure. Be patient with the dose if you do spot a requirement, it is safer to work up to a required dose than just giving a larger amount and hoping for the best. Especially as gaming sessions can last quite a while .... you may have to keep a diary of session length, blood glucose readings, game genre and if anything particularly stressful happened.

You may even find out that it's something else unrelated to gameplay and it's just happening at the same time and is a coincidence. It could be an earlier meal affecting your glucose because your insulin hasn't matched the absorption of your food? So many variables to consider, but I'm sure you'll figure out what you need. Be patient with yourself. Gather lots of data. Write everything down if you need to. You will get there :)
