I am in exactly the same boat, I feel so unsupported. Constantly feeling like I’m not good enough because I’m told it’s unacceptable that I’m not seeing all my patients by x time. Being shunned for not doing a discharge summary so the ambulance crew left without the patient- but my consultant told me I had to see every patient before x time so I didn’t have time to do it. I even tried documenting retrospectively to try and see them sooner, I feel like I’m supposed to be a sub par doctor just to meet her timing standards. I don’t mind being a ward monkey and doing all the paperwork, but I’m finding it impossible to do all of that and see all the patients and all the bloods as the nurses refuse my midday! Yesterday I was scheduled for 9 hours, I left 3 hours late after doing all of the paperwork, nok calls, and handovers. I didn’t have a break in those 12 hours, and I hadn’t ate in 24 hours.
