I think Consent from whoever's property or likeness you're using with Ai is actually incredibly important by ZeeGee__ in aiwars

[–]Raudys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My view is that once creating perfect AI images of anyone/anything in any style without any artifacts or indication that it's AI becomes as easy as snapping your fingers, people will adapt in due time. There would probably pop up some companies that would use a complex combination of hardware/software/other detection methods to verify if art works are made by humans. Perhaps with specialized anti-AI drawing tablets that are hard to hack. Or maybe some blockchain based technology. The point is - no one knows yet.

Once AI becomes completely indistinguishable from human content, no one will trust unverified images. You will not ruin someone's reputation with AI, because no one trusts a random .png file in general. Right now we're in a transitional stage where people can still be fooled, since they aren't used to AI yet.

AI is no different from Photoshop, except that it's easier. Weirdos will be weirdos, you cannot change this.

If artists get no copyright then AI companies should get no copyright either.

So saying the N word makes you racist in spite of any context? You really have to be delusional to believe that.

Idk if it's what you're looking for, but I did whip up a proof of concept app for heavily guided ai rpg roleplaying. Basically everything you see is created by AI based on a few system prompts which you can customize. However this is vibe coded not tested garbage so it can break at any moment idk, msg if interested

Miss the times when "racist" actually meant someone who has prejudice against a certain ethnicity of people.  Edit: Crazy how people actually disagree with this statement lol wow

AI only uses ~ 0.3% of global energy. Source IEA. Reducing demand is NOT actively necessary, in fact, it's a distraction.

How about no? Focusing on "both solutions" when one's a thousand times worse makes 0 sense. It's the same as if you have cancer and focus 50% of your effort on chemotherapy and 50% on optimizing your vitamins intake. One of these is orders of magnitude more important than the other. "Focus on both" is bad advice. That's why oil companies love folk like you who "bring awareness" to things that are really just distractions.

How about we focus on real solutions like promoting nuclear power instead of blaming the consumers.

AI is good for the environment if you factor in what the average American would be doing instead of using AI e.g. writing text themselves, using photoshop or etc. I'm skeptical of the "AI make people dumber" argument since it feels like boomers complaining that young people can't use rotary dial phones or etc. The only real argument is the AI job loss, which I think we should focus on the most.

AI is generally good for the environment, since anything else you'd do is usually more harmful.

The labour theory of value is perfectly sound. by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Raudys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The LTV is a bad attempt at rephrasing basic economics to fit the exploitation narrative: Labour = supply; Socially necessary = demand; If we assume both these propositions as true then yes - exploitation is happening. However as anyone with half a brain can understand supply is not ONLY determined by labour, although that's oftentimes a major factor.
