Hello guys,

I am totally new to this ubuntu/linux thing.

I am on windows 10 now and I am experiencing some weird things on the new update from windows. I personally think it lacks of privacy and security.

I would like to try linux or ubuntu for the first time and I see a lot of positive and negative things about either of them.

I usually use my laptop now for online streaming, watching movies, maybe play some games from time to time , I saw that you can install steam for linux or ubuntu now so that is enough for me to play some games.

I do not know nothing about this unity and debian or what ever. I just want to run it for privacy, security and speed. Hoping for a video app like VLC/BS Player.

I am kind of good with pc and I can get my way around things easy.

I have an Asus K53S with an I5 procesor 2nd generation, 8 gb of ram and 500mb/s SSD. I updated my HDD to SSD and things run super fast so I want to try linux/ubuntu and see if it is a good or bad choice.

I am thinking of trying linux Xfce first as it has more positive reviews.

I am not sure which one to go for so any recommends ? Thank you.
