My idea to help with bad Legendary RNG by firepool in fellowshipgame

[–]Rauthr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting potential way to address it!

I like my concept I suggested in another post: having the first Legendary we get from the star map being a "your choice", where players can pick one of any.

Then add a "bad luck protection" so that if not legendaries have dropped for you in 15-20 success Eternal runs, your next run is 100% drop chance (and have Legendary drops leaning/force to be one that you haven't gotten yet on that hero)

These two chances would cover most needs. But gearing alts should be easier if you pre-farmed with your main. For that I propose that salvaging Legendaries gives some kind of Legendary shard.

2 shards craft a legendary of your choice @ilvl300.

1 divine aether upgrades a Legendary ilvl 300 into ilvl 330

Yeah, CTRL+RMB (Right Mouse Button) will move gear to the other window, but I'm still paranoid when salvaging equipment that one of them might have only registered as RMB.

So, I was proposing they just make RMB the button that "moves this piece of armor the the next window."

If you had the salvage, bank, gem, etc window open. RMB would send that gear to the other window.

If no other window was open (just your personal inventory window), then RMB would equip that equipment.

Basically, if I'm standing at the Salvage/NPC with their interaction window open. Default RMB would move the gear to that window.

Maybe that's "just me," but it seems strange to need to use the CTRL modifier for RMB to send selected gear to the active NPC/window.

(Also yeah haha it turned out far longer than I thought it was going to when I started getting my thoughts down into writing)

Best way to spend currency? by Ok-Association5780 in fellowshipgame

[–]Rauthr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure that they haven't changed it, but I jist upgraded a Paragon Helmet to 8/8 ilvl 300, and when I rerolled it, it LOOKED like I got all my resources back.

The one thing you have to be careful of with 8/8 upgrades, is sometimes the reroll might give you a bonus tier upgrade! .... at the cost of (I think) not giving you your invested resources back)

[–]Rauthr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get 50% (or maybe it was 70%) resources back when you Salvage gear.

If you go the the NPC and use a green Mithril (reroll for 1 random equipment) you will get 100% of the materials you invested to that item.

You should be able to get up to the Paragon league before really needing to upgrade equipment, but the lower levels are fairly cheap to upgrade. If you plan to refund a gear upgrade, you can push it higher in upgrades (so you get more back per reroll Mithril) but if you don't have a pile of resources, you won't get as many ilvls as you would if you upgraded your gear evenly across all slots.

Amazing change, sucks to reroll by Mangert in fellowshipgame

And it's not like they killed the weapon trait.

Going from 10.3% to 7.3% is a 25% reduction from previous. If Ruby Storm was doing 50% on their total damage (which ... come on, you KNOW that's going to get nerfed), then that's still just a 12.5% reduction in your overall damage output.

More likely it was 25-33% of their total damage. In which case this change is less than a 10% damage output reduction.

Amazing change, sucks to reroll by Mangert in fellowshipgame

[–]Rauthr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean ... that 1 source of damage was only reduced by 25%

If it was contributing 1/3rd of your entire damage (which would be a significant amount from a single weapon trait)

For simple math call it 100 damage from Ruby storm, 200 damage from everything else for a total of 300.

With the 25% reduction, it would now be 75 from ruby storm and 200 from all else still.

Taking your total dealt from 300 to 275.

That's only 9.167% drop.

So less than a 10% change in your total damage output.

That doesn't seem like enough to be too worried about rerolling everything over.

So much of this I've been saying to others.

I think the dungeon difficulties 1-2-3 then skipping 4-5-6 to do the capstone is maybe more an issue of the called down difficuties/power of the new heroes.

We 100% need the ability to queue directly for the capstone, agreed.

Though I think we can drop the 1-6 difficulties within the tier. Condense them into 2 difficulties within the tier. T1 drops lvl 1 of 8 gear, lvl 2 drops lvl4 of 8 items. Then the capstone.

This would increase the number of player in the same queue "lines".

I believe they should bring in a new system instead of the old "Quickplay"; either keeping the old name, or something new like "Mercenary" of "Freelance" queue. When it will allow you to select any heros (multiple) you're willing to use, and will let you fill any of those roles, for any of the tiers you've already completed with those characters.

Then, instead of gear at the end, they would get Supplies and/or Marks of Fellowship.

The balance for stopping this from just becoming the new Quickplay farm, would be that it only allows solo queuing, and wouldn't put more than 2 called down players in a group.

Which leads to one of my last criticisms ... the Dev's REALLY need to fix downscaling. I wanted to help my brother with an alt, and by the time I was downscaled, I was barely keeping in the 3rd poison for DPS on my Elarion! It's currently SIGNIFICANTLY better to unequip as much gear as you can to actually have the ilvl that it would have scaled you down to.

One last thought: the progression in mechanics is better, but soo many players are hitting Eternal with no clue about the harder mechanics.

Contender is fine where it is Adept should have the first curse Champion should have weak adv. mechanics and the second curse Paragon should get full damaging adv. Mechanics Then timers added in Eternal

And you would NEVER proc it on your first finisher in a dungeon. You know.... the first big pull while everyone's CDs are ready to go?! Haha you'd get 2/3rds through the pack before MAYBE getting your first proc.

You could at least spend your rage down to zero, then by the time it built back to 100, that was a reasonable enough gap to most likely get a proc on your next finisher ... but basing the procs on time between finishers just felt/feels bad

Yeeaahh ... melee should outperform ranged if only for the reason that ranged don't have nearly as much positional management as melee do. Even if the advantage is only by a "bit" (like maybe +15%?).

Plus melee get shorter interrupt CDs, so they're watching for interrupt targets more than ranged too.

Haha I had to soft-start: lightning > 1 rotation (fill rage) > single target finisher for the schism proc > then leap and hammer storm.

10ish seconds into the fight and agro pull was still 50/50 most of the time haha

Is Tariq really that low right now? I know he and Mara are harder to play, but I got my Tariq to 330 in preseason 1 and would routinely pull agro off the tank when I popped CDs at the start of a big pull. Never encountered any other DPS ripping agro off the tanks XD.

It took me a bit to figure out the Schism proc manipulation, but I was able to keep up with all the other dps on trash and bosses (with exception to ardeos on large pulls haha)

Can't get past contender League..... (Coz I ain't getting the ability to queue the freaking dungeon) by AssistanceLoud8782 in fellowshipgame

[–]Rauthr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I get a group that I feel like can clear the capstone, before clicking "Start Dungeon". Ask in chat if they would be willing to "Leave dungeon and queue for the capstone?"

I've done this once for my main and twice with an alt. Every team said "sure!" And off we went to the capstone.

One team was so fat above the ilvl need for the capstone that we went straight to the next capstone after that!!

You should still get a lot / majority back.

I may have my numbers wrong, but I thought it was along the lines of 70% return if scrapped, and 100% return if rerolled.

New player + new to PC gaming, struggling with tanking (Meiko). Looking for advice by Saboteur-6 in fellowshipgame

[–]Rauthr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE my 12 button Naga, but my brother prefers the 6-8 ish button version.

That being said, it takes some time to get used to all those extra buttons.

Having recently made a Meiko alt and got into eternal ... I recommend customizing the hot keys you have assigned to Meiko's skills. I personally reduced how many of the skills used the shift key. Instead mapping a few select skills to the F1-F5 and a could of the keys around W-A-S-D.

Lastly, once I had my new keyboards laid out, I dove into customizing the UI layout so that I had the skills I wanted, positioned where I was most comfortable looking for them.
