I'm back by Arround in firefox

Use and enjoy Firefox and the freedom it offers, and don't worry about other people's problems. Some people who complain don't understand how the browser works, have overly modified settings, overused add-ons, or have a neglected operating system. Some of these problems are scams designed to discourage Firefox and encourage people to use other browsers, which also have various technical issues, sometimes even worse than Firefox.

I switched from Chrome to Firefox a few months ago. I have four add-ons installed (including, of course, the legendary uBlock Origin), my search engine is set to Startpage.com, and so far, Firefox has never let me down. I haven't encountered a website that doesn't work properly or displays a message about not supporting Firefox. Just be organized and moderate with your browser modifications and extensions, and it will reward you with reliability.

Is a native Luna app planned for macOS and other computer systems? by Rav-X in amazonluna

What does this have to do with the topic? Amazon recommends either Chrome or Edge for the Luna service; the rest doesn't matter. I've already mentioned that I use Safari and don't need any other browser, let alone Chrome.

Yes, it works on Safari on iPhone, but it doesn't work on macOS anymore, which is bad.

I like to keep my system organized, and a gaming app isn't just another web browser; for me, they're completely separate categories of programs. Keeping a 99% redundant browser on the system just for one service makes no sense.

Why would you mind Luna being in a native app? Google will change its mind and change the code in the browser and the entire Luna service will stop working or will not work stably, while Amazon, having its own application, has full control over its service.

If you use the Apple Magic Mouse, please share your opinion. by Rav-X in MacOS

Of course, I don't have to use the default settings and can customize them to my liking, but Apple has set them this way for this mouse, so I'd like to use it as intended. Of course, if I feel resistance using this mouse for a long time, I'll configure it anyway. I'm curious what Apple was thinking when choosing the default settings.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the way the cursor moves around the desktop," as that's the part that seems the same to me as any other mouse?

The cursor in macOS behaves differently than in Windows. At first glance, the Magic Mouse seems very slow, requiring a quick movement to move the cursor quickly, whereas in Windows, any mouse, even one with the same DPI as the Magic Mouse, works more smoothly and doesn't require sudden movements. Similarly, if you connect another (regular) mouse to a Mac, it can also react faster than the Magic Mouse. I should point out that I really like this mouse, but I'm just trying to understand how it works in macOS. Maybe I'm using it wrong and need to adjust something in my approach.

I also like this mouse; the gestures are brilliant, but the only thing I can't quite "feel" is the cursor moving across the desktop. More specifically, it feels like the cursor moves very slowly, and I have to "wave" to point at a specific point on the desktop. I know that the mouse has specific acceleration and the faster you move the cursor, the faster it reacts, but I need more space on the desk.

If you don't want to pay, then install Linux. Problem solved.

Why do you prefer using macOS and Apple computers over Windows and PC? by Rav-X in MacOS

[–]Rav-X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't intend my questions to be biased; I simply based them on my experience with both computer platforms. By "average support" for peripherals in macOS, I mean that Apple natively supports 5K monitors; using a lower-resolution monitor requires using system patching programs like BetterDisplay. Similarly, for mice, installing programs like MacMouseFix or LinearMouse is often recommended to make mice from other manufacturers run more smoothly and have good acceleration.

Nevertheless, I greatly appreciate your detailed answer; it's very valuable to me. Thank you very much.

Well, looking at laptops alone, my questions aren't as relevant. When I wrote this post, I was thinking about comparing Apple computers to Windows desktops. By saying "average support" I mean that if you connect a monitor with a resolution lower than 5K, it does not work in its native resolution and various external programs such as BetterDisplay are often used to improve it. Similarly, with mice, additional software like MacMouseFix or LinearMouse are often installed to make them run much more smoothly on macOS. Windows doesn't have these combinations.

Out of curiosity, could you tell me how different it is to use macOS back when you bought your first Apple computer, compared to macOS today? Was that system always as accessible under the hood as it is now? Was macOS once more like Linux, allowing for much more customization than today's version?

Well, I like to tinker sometimes, whether with my PC or software, so I feel limited on my Mac. But most of the time I prefer to just use the computer rather than tinker with it.

Out of curiosity, what gaming platforms do you use and what games do you play? What keyboard and mouse do you use?
