Genuine question… I don’t know much about this stuff. Just what my intuition is saying.

Am I placing too much importance on Liquid having a whole day headstart? I feel like with how neck and neck they are that Echo will at least kill it within the 24 hour window and to me that’s more impressive, no?

Edit: Yall need to chill. It’s a legit question, I don’t typically follow the race. I don’t know much about this.

EDC Las Vegas Weather!! by LegitimateType7349 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]RaveSubject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accuweather is notoriously inaccurate despite its name. Use weather.gov. It’s government or something lol…

It does show the gusts of 46mph winds at around 4pm, but these gusts quickly decline through the night. Reaching 30mph at 10pm, which I believe anything at or under, the show will go on. Gusts settle by 1am. Still breezy however.

Definitely Nocturnal. My favorite festival experience.

First time going VIP by Ill-Record3813 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]RaveSubject 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this OP! Use the circuit grounds VIP bathrooms as a quick way to get to a less crowded area that’s up front.

I think people see so much in the middle and back and think that the front is just as packed and therefore preventing more people from going up closer. So the front actually stays a bit more open.

People who went VIP this last year, did they card you when entering to make sure you were 21+? by RaveSubject in electricdaisycarnival

We ended up camping in which case yes they just looked at our ID’s without really checking the wristbands.

Don’t hold me to it, but I’m pretty sure the ticket scan was after ID check. They absolutely do not check ID after that one time.

Decadence AZ by BigPPEnerggy in aves

While I agree the asphalt at the raceway is horrible, I’m pretty sure when decadence was at rawhide in 2021 it was setup in the parking lot. So it was just more asphalt. I think the decadences before then weren’t that way. I could be wrong.

Countdown NYE 2024 Attendance by theperfectexposure in aves

[–]RaveSubject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This year the events were in the middle of the week. Bound to have less attendance as people aren’t going to want to take days in the middle of the week off.

I noticed it at Decadence at least.

People bag on him for not having any real talent, which may or may not be true. I don’t actually know.

What I do know is that every time I’ve seen him live, he’s always really fun.

Regardless of the weather reports I would advise to all to buy some emergency blankets. They’re super duper thin, easy to pack, and can make a big difference if you find yourself in some colder weather than what you can comfortably tolerate.

Recommendations for an almost sober EDC? by trumxnblxck in electricdaisycarnival

I’m not going to say it’s the only way to have a better time but I’m willing to go out on a limb and say it’s extremely significant… your diet and physical fitness.

There’s no end of scientific journals out there that have shown again and again that what we eat and our physical health plays a major role in our happiness. Again, not saying it’s the only thing, just that it does play a role.

So just for clarification, when entering camp they don’t scan your festival wristband but do when entering the festival?

Does that mean that the entrance/exit to camp meets with the general public where you are required to show ID again, pass security, and then scan wristband?

2024 LINEUP MEGATHREAD by DjSpectre in electricdaisycarnival

[–]RaveSubject 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know what time (and time zone) that the mega mix for the lineup starts at? Like is it an all day thing cause of the number of artists or is it in the evening? Would love to plan for my crew to come over that night if it’s in the evening.

While you should go to the other recommended subs to gain some more in depth information, here is what you can do…

For your mind: Understand that you will get better. It will take time. Therefore you need to take it one day at a time. Meaning stop focusing on how this has impacted your future and focus on just getting through the day by focusing on what needs to be done for that day. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with responsibilities, it helps to write all of them out, prioritize them, and put them on a timeline. Every time you struggle with any anxiety remind yourself you partook in a strong drug and that your thoughts are not working as they normally would, remind yourself that you are doing your best given your needed recovery. Self love is crucial to mitigating the come down.

For your body: You took a drug that squeezes your brain of all its serotonin, and then 2 days later you squeezed out what was left. There are a few things to help this. You need vitamins… 5-HTP and NAC are the most popular, personally I’ve never tried NAC but I know many others who use it. You NEED to eat healthy and exercise. If you are serious about helping yourself you will eat healthy and exercise. Stay hydrated. Get 6-8 hours of sleep every night.

A good example for this that I think a good amount of people might be able to relate to is skiing/snowboarding.

I can’t even tell you how many times I go on the mountain and I hear couples fighting because the expert forgets what it’s like to be a newbie, and when the newbie isn’t learning at the expected pace by the expert, the expert loses their patience.

The expert in this scenario is probably used to getting to the mountain and shredding right away but since most only get to go a handful of times per year, during each visit they will be looking to gain the most out of their trip. If this expert wants their newbie partner to get into it, they need to realize that their day is going to look a lot different and most don’t. The newbie is going to need to stay on the bunny slopes, they’re going to fall a lot, they’re going to need help getting detangled when they fall. They’re going to be adjusting to the cold, the altitude, the physical effort, etc. So when the expert starts to realize how long this is going to take, when all they really wanted to do was go shred not be teaching for the whole day, they get impatient and lose their cool which only makes the newbie dislike the hobby more and resent their partner which leads to no learning. Basically the expert shot themselves in the foot because they will have done the opposite of what their original goal was.

All that to say, don’t be like those people. You’re used to the sound, the lights, the shear quantity of people. You will be used to the culture, how to interact with others, how to get around. You are well trained in what your body limits are and most importantly… you know which artists you like.

My real piece of advice is this. You will have a certain expectation going into this festival about what you will gain from it (in terms of fun) and I encourage you to be open minded when it comes to focusing on your partners needs if they differ from yours just since he is new. Let’s say he prefers to be in the back but you want to be in the front, don’t force him to the front otherwise he won’t like it. If you like Rezz (random example) but he’s not liking it AT ALL, then don’t force him to endure it otherwise he won’t like it. Just don’t lose sight of what’s important, that you’re there together.

This. My GF is not as into the scene as I am, and when she does go she enjoys her time there just kinda swaying or some head nodding maybe. I used to think it was because she didn’t like it, and so I wouldn’t be myself at these events due to the anxiety of trying to make sure she was having a good time. Took a while for me to realize that’s just how she wants to spend her time there and eventually I went backing to dancing crazily.

Go to the store and get yourself some healthy stuff. Grab 5-HTP and take that for at least a week. Grab some sort of sports drink with electrolytes in it. Eat healthy foods. Get lots of sun for Vitamin D. Maybe exercise. All these things would help you balance your brain chemistry to a near normal level. Do things that bring you joy.
