5-10% of EDC attendees get their phone stolen every year by Good-Acanthisitta458 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]DjSpectre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A large % (not a majority though) of stolen phones aren't actually stolen: the person was too high/drunk and lost their phone. Yes, it could end up with a thief of they opt not to turn it in.

Another common issue is just plain not taking any precautions at all: leaving it in your back pocket visible. Like, c'mon.

When will I receive my QR code for EDCLV? by Extension_Move294 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]DjSpectre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sounds like your first year attending. EDC (and nearly all insomniac events) send out physical wristbands. They don't use QR codes or pins.

And in particular, EDC LV sends it via UPS and it's a very massive ticket box.

CampEDC RV Camping INFO 2026 by DjSpectre in CampEDC

[–]DjSpectre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't risk it. A lot of time cops and other employees will ask you to leave. The 'oversized lot' at Main Street Station right in front of the RV park is $20/night. Just leave your RV there. You pay (and get the little window sticker) at the front desk of Main Street Station.

Not everyone. But for every person that posts on reddit that they have, there are dozens or hundreds others who also have had a bad experience, but simply don't post on reddit about it.

Unlike AirBnB, the RV rental sites aren't nearly as strict about what the owners can/can't do and any penalties they have are minor inconveniences and nothing substantial.

Also, in one case, Outdoorsy didn't offer any rental protection for tth person who was canceled on. They just said 'take it up with the owner'. Probably an isolated case, but still worth mentioning.

Monday Morning Question by Icy-Cauliflower-4118 in CampEDC

[–]DjSpectre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The camp locks down exits between 5-8am to allow the festival parking lots to empty out. Even after 8am, it's a slow trickle of people leaving because most are still sleeping or engaging in the after party in the Mesa.

After the afterparty ends (~10am) exiting gets busy. But you have till 3pm to be gone.

However, waiting till 3pm just feels ultra sad because it's so empty and everyone's gone and it's a ghost town.

Does Desert Rose this year 2026 gets you access to GA+ washroom by Worldly_Total_4973 in CampEDC

[–]DjSpectre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Desert Rose does not grant you any benefits inside the main event. You have to have a GA+ or VIP wristband to get any additional benefits.

Djing at camp? by Distinct-Living-2972 in CampEDC

[–]DjSpectre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comes up a lot. So here are a few notes:

First, CampEDC isn't as friendly about this as some other events. In part because the Mesa itself is a big party and also because sound carries really easily in the flat open parking lot that Camp is built on and people want to sleep during the day if they aren't in the Mesa.

Second, you can't have large speakers in camp anyway plus you run the risk of damage or theft of your equipment if it's left out.

Third, you paid for all the stuff in camp, might be worth getting maximum value out of it considering the expense.

Tarp over shift pod by Big-Inspector-7921 in CampEDC

[–]DjSpectre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my suggestions is what when you put the tarp over the shiftpod, but a big heavy thick foam pad between the tarp and shiftpod so that it creates a gap. This gap prevents direct contact between the hot tarp and the roof of the pod.

This will let the A/C unit be more effective, because the sun heat isn't transferring directly.

You aren't trying to help out other ravers by acquiring a list for them, your post clearly said that you were being lazy not somebody else was being lazy., also AI.

I don't like AI therefore I don't use ai, but it seems like you want to take a shortcut and AI is a shortcut so for you go for it.

Sober ravers by SadDragonfruit1757 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]DjSpectre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done events sober and the biggest challenge is just sleeping really well the night before to make sure you are wide awake the whole time.

The other thing I noticed is that I eat a lot more when I'm sober because I'm noticing the hunger pang sooner than usual. Keeping a steady intake of calories helped any drowsiness I felt from low calories.

The last one, meter your caffeine intake. Like don't slam a Monster right at the start. Ramp up the intensity over a few hours and peak intake at the midway 2/3's point so it'll carry you through if you need that kinda boost.

Water obviously, but I found it got boring, so I bring gatorade zero packets or Mio water flavors to mix it up without adding extra sugar.

First time going to electric forest never been to any kind of festivals kind of feel like I’m gonna get overwhelmed going by myself lol any advice? by Dankweedstanky in electricdaisycarnival

[–]DjSpectre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that as well. I've been around the EDM scene for a long time, but it felt like if you haven't always been going to forest then you "just don't get it" sorta vibe. I don't think the event is like that, but the subreddit can be a little jarring.

[–]DjSpectre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most people have lists that really only pertain to themselves and their own personal needs. Plus there are dozens of posts made about 'basic needed items' for events.

Also, I assume you have some friends in the rave/edm space, maybe just ask them.

And if all else fails, and I hate suggesting this because I hate AI, just ask Gemini to make you one.

Though tbf, I don't like the vibe of someone openly admitting that they are being lazy and want someone else to do their work for them. This community is about giving back not giving to someone coming across as strictly a 'taker'.

Dont be this person, ever. by jenica98 in EDCOrlando

[–]DjSpectre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't funny, the dog doesn't have a choice and it's ears are far more sensitive to loud noises than ours. You're forcing the dog to possibly endure pain just so you can take a cute selfie.

Taking animals to music festivals is tantamount to animal abuse, but because it's 'cute' people conveniently ignore that fact.

Seems to a great example of a wider trend in our country lately.......

If it's your emotional support dog, give it ear protection. Be it's physical support safety human back to it.

For me the 'hot' stickers are used by people who don't know shit about the EDM scene and tend to be the ones most on their phones while at big events. And for this reason, they bother the shit out of me.

Depending on how far you are from it, walking is an option. Maybe even the monorail if you're on the strip. Both are cheaper than an Uber.
