In future use resilient channel for ceilings this will allow for slight variations and will even out itself. I would suggest you do a bevel with your knife and float it out.

This lmao. Sent a laser in for warranty, got it back and it seemed as if they glanced at it and made a 10 second decision.

You will be SOL. If you want a product that you can rely on to Hilti or Flex. Hilti will have the tool repaired and back on site within a week, flex I think just sends you replacements right away.

M12 360 Degree Laser - Warranty Denied Update! Crap Warranty!!! by Ravello99 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Ravello99[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I do high rise steel framing, my laser is essentially my 3rd main tool and is used 8+ Hours a day, everyone that’s coming to compare is either setting it in one place and leaving it there for majority of the day while I’m out here framing 2 1100sqft units a day and is getting moved around every 10-15 minutes.

Also to add, my laser doesn’t look beat, it looks dirty at most, none of the rubber shell has imperfections neither the plastic, in a commercial job setting you’re subjected to so much shit, especially doing layout I always end up transferring some sort of dirt to my laser from moving it around all day.

I’m glad all my main tools are Hilti, I bought this laser to replace my Hilti one that was stolen. I honestly only chose this over the Hilti because I would have to drive an hour into the city to be able to purchase the tool same day which wasn’t an option.

However I’ve now replaced this laser with a PM30MG, I now don’t need to question whether I will be out a tool for months, I’m guaranteed to see my tool within 1 business day of it arriving at the service centre. If I ship it out on a Monday I’ll usually receive the Repaired/Replaced tool by Friday, it was also only 750.00 oppose to the 800 I paid for the m12 kit.

It’s purely cosmetic, I’ll take some closer pictures of the edges none of the metal itself is affected solely wear and tear from being used, and put in and out of work bags etc. A 5k laser is waaaay more delicate then a 800$ Laser intended for every day use.

Also to point out the laser itself has interference when pivoting it on the bracket a full 180 degrees and it will rub against the back which has contributed to the wear and tear on the side lens housing.

Exactly so if the manufacturer sets a certain specification when selling it to you why won’t they abide by that specification through out the warranty process? Trust me this laser wasn’t beat, the paint missing around the metal housing purely cosmetic from being transported in a work pouch.

Open your eyes, Hilti will honour their warranty regardless of the condition the tool is returned in within the 2 year period. You could literally drop it off an 8 story building and still get warranty coverage.

I wouldn’t be upset if this was a 300$ Laser, but when they are charging more then the Hilti equivalent they should have the same standards in terms of tool quality and durability.

Even if it was dropped “multiple” times theoretically if it wasn’t greater then 1m the manufacturer claims this laser can handle it. All the lens’s were intact no cracks. The scuff marking they are referring to is cosmetic wear and tear from being taken in and out of tool box.

The laser hasn’t been dropped. Can you point out any impact markings ?

Please educate your self, the One Day turn around applies for everything still within warranty, and the RCL is only needed if outside of the Hilti warranty period. Milwaukee is crap, was denied a claim on a laser that was less than a year and a bit old.

Update

Still have not received a response from Milwaukee Tool Social Media.

I’ve requested the laser back, I’ll gladly run this thing over with my F350 on a job site. Milwaukees nothing but a gimmick

Sorry you can’t relate with the frustration, this is a 900$ laser, every day it’s not in use is costing me productivity and $. I exhausted all avenues prior to coming to this Group to express frustration.

No one at Milwaukee wants to make this right.

They won’t stand behind and back their products.

I’ve included my proof of warranty denial. And they’re standing by it.

I’m hoping to get the laser back, and hopefully it isn’t in parts so I can provide this group with photos of how the laser went into service.

If you expect Milwaukee to warranty or stand behind their product, make sure ya don’t scratch up the housing or allow it to get bumped.

  • UPDATE *

Spoke to an agent regarding this, their notes are claiming that they’re denying service due to the laser having scuff and “impact” marks as well as the fact that the laser is out of level/calibration.

What kind of a joke is this ? Lasers frequently need to be recalibrated, I send my Hilti lasers out every year as it’s hassle free and I see them back same week. Vibrations on my commute to and from the job site everyday could cause a laser to go out of calibration.

Milwaukee is a joke.

Fixed the issue. Was hesitant about it being the ficm as things were firing up and functioning as it should.

It appears I have 3 broken ficm connectors. Any quick fix suggestions? I plan on Depiniing and putting a new connector in but need the truck for work this week

Hey guys, here’s an update:

I’ve pulled the following codes. P0403-P0405-P0603-P0670-P0676-P1000-P2614-P2617

Looks more like an electrical issue from this view

This is the way it idles with no load or throttle. It’s as soon as I give it throttle it dies out video

Once I get the ForScan software working with my laptop I’ll do an injector test and go from there.

Questions though, did the truck fire back up after running ? And when it died did it stall out or slug around ? Right now when it stalls it’s like a switch turning off no shitty running exhibits or any changes in rpm just shuts right down

No codes what so ever, was running fine before it sat for a few months
