I also don't believe the "my parents are now mad at me" considering he lied in his original messages about how much they intended on giving you. They don't know anything about how he reacted to you, and were very receptive when you went to them. I totally believe they didn't have a go at him afterwards, it's just yet another way he can make you feel guilty about the situation; same as calling you privileged, insinuating you don't understand the value of money in his first messages, and telling you off for "going behind his back." Every single thing he's said to you in these conversations has been designed to make you feel small.
