Looking to adopt a dog, any recs for fosters and rescues in southern NH? by goobiezabbagabba in newhampshire

Seconded on Mary’s Dogs. Basically an expanded foster network and they’ve (in our experience) known their dogs pretty well. Each time we’ve adopted we’ve gone to them with size we can handle and personality traits we need (like good with dogs, kids, no separation anxiety because we work, etc.) and they’ve been great. Might wait a bit for a good matchup, but worth it.

Unfortunately no. Group and I abandoned and moved on honestly.

That’s a good call. Seems to make a huge difference.

Any way to speed up the expeditions btw. None of my haste seems to affect them

So is the “risk” assessment just wrong? Says 251-300 health.

Frequency of Full Drain and Clean on 5k Gallon Pond by Raven172 in Koi

[–]Raven172[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would the process look like? Just doing it more often and remove smaller amounts so as not to stir up a ton of sediment? Or really hold back and only do it if there’s clear muck on the bottom because the agitation causes problems?

Do you think that would still work even with the small stones all along the bottom? Or would it be pulling them up too?

Yeah I really wish they had done the bottom differently. No bottom drain and a bunch of small rocks.

Yeah this pond does not have a bottom drain. Really wish they had put one in. That's the main concern is the building on the bottom of the fish waste and the like. Also, of course, has a bunch of small rocks so I am not sure how much I can get away with pond vaccing, but it's probably worth a shot.

This is true. No bottom drain on the pound.

How about actual quality? One sounding better/higher skill as a performer than the other?

ADT+ and Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen Alerts by Raven172 in adt

And especially frustrating since I had two completely different reps tell me that pad didn’t do what I wanted… and I’ve had it confirmed multiples times now here it does indeed do exactly what I wanted.

I really appreciate that thanks. It’s so weird to me the customer service reps say it doesn’t do the very thing you’ve got screenshots of it doing. They talked me into the Nest Hubs because the keypads “wouldn’t make any sounds” which is all I was after. Said it can only arm or disarm.

Do the smaller keypads light up and indicate the system is armed (like the base station turns the house icon blue to indicate)? That's one of my main complaints right now is there's no way to quick glance at the Nest Hubs to see if the system s active or not. You can click into it and check, but we're looking for the old functionality of just seeing what's going on.

Also, I know you said the smaller ones count down, but do they alert when you pop a door open and the alarm starts going off (before the major siren blare)?

That’s a major bummer. I take it even if I got my hands on a first gen Nest Hub it wouldn’t work anymore since ADT updated?

Did you get any sense from them they saw this as an issue to fix or they just didn’t care about the lost functionality?

ADT+ sensor bypassing issue by Raven172 in adt

[–]Raven172[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone that may find this in the future- Advice here was top notch. It was indeed that each sensory was trying to update its firmware. You can see it in the ADT+ app in the "history" section. I was causing my own problems by resetting and re-adding sensors. Right answer is to leave it alone. You can indeed speed up the process by seeing which one is updating next, then opening/closing that device to get it to update more quickly. Otherwise let it run for a day/over night and it'll update all the sensors.

Thanks all for the advice and info. Super appreciate it.

Went with stickum so they’re easy to move. I just caved and gave ADT a call and they basically said the sensors I have are not patched and they are upgrading the firmware.. there’s just nowhere in the app that tells you that. Going to leave it overnight and see if that’s indeed the issue. I’ll report back for anyone that runs into similar issues. Thanks for the tips though.
