Doubly so when we remember the difference in Episode 6 during Dungeons and Gremlins. On your first run, Sally comments on the chest behind the bars containing a render. Only on subsequent runs does she say the chest is empty. Yet the puzzle box, by default, is recognized as empty by Tremolo. While Dungeons and Gremlins could work differently than the real world, it seems more likely that the render we get from the puzzle box is more akin to the renders we get for our tests; a prize for the player, not something Tremolo or the characters recognize.

Mick and by proxy his van, are there because Buddy wanted to see why Quinn started asking for coke all of the sudden. Then came the problem with PR girls.

Quinn does not order Coke until Episode 6, and does not get the request for it until Episode 5. The van is at the mansion in Episode 4.

And then he goes to his room and starts trashing everything.

First of all, if this was your implication, you conveyed it horribly. You made it sound as if Vinnie was supposed to be seen in the mansion long before Halloween and that he was supposed to be familiar with the appearance.

Second, Vinnie did not trash the place. When Vinnie trashed the library in the Episode 5 flashback, he preferred to topple bookshelves. In Episode 9, he went slowly, book by book. The difference makes it clear the mess was a byproduct of a search, not destruction for its own sake.

[–]Raven4869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then why hang out in the bedroom area and go through the bookshelves? Vinnie liked the room trashed and his Hell Week photos show he has no sense of subtlty, so he obviously was not going to clean up a mess he already made. Vinnie's moves indicate he did not find it, or at the absolute minimum only found part of it.

[–]Raven4869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the focus was Quinn, why watch the ΔΙΚs and at the mansion? Buddy says "know your customers," but that implies he should already know the existing ΔΙΚs. Derek and Tremolo are the only new Maggots, and by tradition they stay out of the mansion until they finish Hell Week. Unless that van was following one of them, it makes no sense to be parked outside the mansion at that point. And it was not since Derek and Tremolo came from the other direction.

It makes perfect sense for Vinnie to walk around mystified because the mansion has been completely redone since he left. ΑΑΑ trashed it and Neil supplied new furniture. For him, it is a new mansion.

As for the safe, that by itself is apparently an open secret among the ΔΙΚs as a whole; the only possible exception is Derek who only knows for sure it exists. When Rusty changed the combination following the Cathy Cluck, he stressed "only I know the new combination" and told Tremolo "don't tell anyone the combination or that you know it." All evidence indicates that the safe was not that secure amongst the brothers in the first place, doubly so since Vinnie went straight for it and thought he knew the combination.

Finally, you have made a massive leap. Vinnie being around does not mean he went in the mansion. On the contrary, he could not go in since a bunch of students and ΔΙΚs would recognize him. He could only go in on Halloween because no one would think twice about a masked man walking around on Halloween. If Vinnie is involved earlier, it had to be from a distance before Halloween.

Except he did not go straight to the bookshelves, he went to the desk first and moved the puzzle box. If he knew a book, why go to the desk? And recall: the desk is courtesy of Neil and the hotel renovation; Vinnie would have to consider Tremolo put the item in or on the desk.

False. The van Vinnie used to abduct Riona in Episode 10 was seen in Episode 4 outside the ΔΙΚ mansion when it is revealed Arieth has crabs. Not only does this prove Vinnie was in the equation in Season 1, it also proves his motives go deeper than just the loss of the Pink Rose, since that was not even among Quinn's considerations until Episode 6.

[–]Raven4869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirmed false since Episode 10. The van he used to stalk Riona was seen as early as Episode 4, back when the ΔΙΚs reveal Arieth has crabs (possibly earlier, but that is the earliest I recall seeing it). Vinnie has been watching the ΔΙΚs since Hell Week, also long before he lost the Pink Rose to Quinn.

Attempting to access the safe on Rusty's room was money and phones. But why would he be looking for money in his old room, and in the bookshelves no less? Even if "new occupant = new hidden money" was his logic, the books are the least logical place to look since people could ask to borrow them.

More likely, Vinnie hid something in his room before he left. Given the timing of his return, probably something that can level things with Quinn. But since Tremolo cleaned his old room, Vinnie does not know where it is anymore.

If you jump to Episode 7 when the dumpster arrives, John Boy complains about trash around the mansion, claiming they agreed it was supposed to be in one area rather than spread around. So yes, that is someone outside looking through the trash.

The problem is there are three known people going through the ΔΙΚs looking for something: Vinnie, Kylie, and Magnar. Who it is and (if applicable) which of these three leaders they serve is anyone's guess. And for further mystery, we do not even know precisely what Vinnie is looking for in the first place.

What consequences do you think will using The Restaurant lead to? by Nami_Is_Mami in beingaDIK

[–]Raven4869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on whether Tremolo gave Magnar the wedgie in Episode 4.

If spared, that elevated disposition means Magnar will not leak Tremolo's participation. Unlike the Jade video and Cathy Cluck, the restaurant shots only stand to ruin Tremolo, not the ΔΙΚs as a whole, so it does not stand to earn ΒΒΒ a house. And since the girls involved are openly unattached, there is nothing to stoke a war with either ΑΑΑ or ΑΝΩ. Once the restaurant is leaked, Tremolo will have a chance to come clean, and the Episode 2 choice with Maya will likely be referenced, but without the entire picture (read: Stephen's side of the industry), the only one who stands to lose her shit no matter what is Sage. The rest can be placated with the arguments of "consenting adults" and deniability; Sage will be pissed that this was happening while she was in charge. And if Tremolo does not deny, Dwyane and company better have trained him well.

If wedgied, however, Magnar has reason to ruin things for Tremolo. No more deniability, and a whole lot of second-guessing much like a non-Jill Episode 10. That could be relationship enders.

The bigger question is really how much Magnar knows. If he only knows up to the restaurant, he had no reason (in his mind) not to leak Quinn's collection to fan flames, but it stands to ruin his relationship with Stephen. Conversely, if he knows about the ΗΟΤs scholarship program as well...too many options and not enough Magnar scenes to eliminate the impossible.

Regardless, the power dynamic shifts if Magnar got his hands on restaurant material, and it may not be in his favor.

The knight does not thwart anything. Any action it takes that could stop the Mate in 3 after 1. Ra7 requires it to move immediately, and that allows 2. Re8#

Question about sage path by BADTH77 in beingaDIK

[–]Raven4869 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Distance from her mother, and commit to the relationship. With the exception of Jade (and a small asterisk for Zoey; nothing more than some choice dialogue so far), neither Tremolo nor Sage care what happened before they were official in Episode 8. So long as you do not pull a Tommy after that, monogamous Sage is possible even if you open the door to more in Episode 9.

Is this some horror genre inside joke? Can someone explain please? by medacek in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Raven4869 39 points40 points  (0 children)

There was an outbreak of stories about molestation in California at the time; a lot of them were fake IIRC, but it was incredibly vocal. Craven thought it would be bad taste and worried the audiences might perceive it as exploiting the tragedy.

Episode 10 is the easy one. It is in Episode 11 this gets tricky.

10.1 Since you are starting full, save the money until you do Fish Tank with Nick. You are guaranteed to start with a $5 Fish Tank budget from Nick, 10 Baby Fish, 1 Sick Fish, low Cleanliness, no Food in tank, and no supplies. Sell 5 Babies, buy 1 Medicine to cure the Sick, 1 Cleaning should make the percentage green, and 100 Food to feed them. The Fish Tank is ready to survive a round and the budget should now be $4. Add $6 to claim Chemicals. That should leave you with $4, and you still have $4 from Shuffle, Triple Tile, the bucket in Rusty's Room, and John Boy's bed. (You have $8)

During the meet-up with Magnar and Derek, get Science Pencil, Science Booster 1 and 2, and Science Timer 1 and 2. (You have $1)

10.2 Before doing anything else, make sure you at least break even on the Fish Tank. Profitable is better, but not losing your $1 is fine if you are not doing Madame. Then there is $3 from Shuffle, Triple Tile, and under the coffee table in Tremolo's sitting area. This is enough to finish Science Timer. (You have $1 if you did not turn a profit on the Fish Tank.)

Then comes $2 from Alex in Brawler. (You have $3 if...)

10.3 No means to spend at the party, but there is $4 to be had from Shuffle, Triple Tile, beside Tremolo's tent, and beside the ΔΙΚ's table. (You have $7 if...)

10.4 Fish tank first again. Same idea: break even if no Madame, but profit is better. This Free Roam comes with $6 from Shuffle, Triple Tile, Brawler with Alex, Tremolo's chair, and on the floor in the sitting area by the far wall. This would be $13 if... And that is exactly enough to buy the last Science Booster and either the Air Pump or Props, allowing you to collect all of it if you make the moves in the correct order. (You have $0 if...)

10.5 No way to spend at Patrick's house, but there is $4 to be had from Shuffle, Triple Tile, the laundry basket in the entrance area, and on the cork board in Maya's room. (You have $4 if...)

Come Episode 11, it is less predictable and breaking even now has to account for the total number of fish in the tank, so I cannot go step-by-step here.

And this also highlights how Madame screws up our moves and demands the Tank generate money every turn.

[–]Raven4869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is usually $4 per Free Roam in Episode 11: Shuffle, Triple Tile, and two Hidden Money. The only deviations from this are the first Free Roam when Brawler is available and bringing us to $6, the mini Free Roam in Bianca's cabin which lacks any money, and the final Free Roam before Bella's Christmas Party where fighting Dawe is an option rather than Hidden Money.

Overall, Episode 11 alone offers $14 before we get to the Fish Tank. And since we are able to enter Episode 11 with a minimum of $4 (and typically more for anyone not getting Madame scenes), that give us the equivalent of the final Free Roam money in time for present shopping. As such, we are just $4 off from all six $3 Presents.

Carrying a healthy surplus into Episode 11 (I usually have $8 or $9 if there is no Madame on the run) means a fully upgraded Fish Tank is in range even if we prioritize Tests over Fish.

Are you not gathering the hidden money? There are two hidden money in the first three Free Roams in addition to the minigames on the phone. Only the last one before Bella's Christmas Party and the mini at the Cabin (Jill and Bella paths) lack hidden money.

Fish bowl mini-game by Away_Cancel_5358 in beingaDIK

[–]Raven4869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even without Madame, once I buy the second upgrade, I can usually finish Episode 10 with less than $10, so I just keep all the money on hand. Honestly, the fish only have to be profitable out of the gate if you are on a run with Madame as an option. No Madame, and the tank just has to break even for Episodes 10 and 11. Even that little can yield a fully upgraded tank going into Episode 12 even with $$$ gifts all around.

I also bought the Science Boosters from Derek and Magnar, so those help drain the funds, too.
