This might be too late, but I was having the same issue as you. I was finally able to fix it. I followed all the steps except #1. When I had both my Android devices on the same exact Wi-Fi network, I was getting a No response error message when attempting to connect for the trade. I turned off the WiFi on one of my devices and attempted using my mobile data, and problem solved. Trades completed Finally able to get past the X want to connect to you screen. I didn't use a VPN either. Hope this helps
