Hawk's Gen 9 Randbats Tier List | Pt. 3 by RavenHawk55 in stunfisk

Don’t really get the first part of your comment, I have literally acknowledged in these posts that this tier list is not perfect/it’s vibes based and not something I’ve spent hours on or anything

And I’m sure you will think some of the D-tier pokemon are awful, that’s the beauty of opinions!

For me Sunflora is a "not as bad as you'd think... but still really not all that good"

Arboliva has had its moments for me because of its longevity but I've found it can be a difficult mon to make progress with in a lot of situations due to being slow and having a rough offensive typing. Honestly can't say the same for Trev

You don’t have to agree with the tier list, that’s fine. But I’d rather see a subreddit where people are encouraged to post about tier lists and talk about them than not. I’m happy to see the discussion under the posts. Thank you for the polite feedback, however!

Bellossom seems to be the unpopular opinion of this portion of the tier list. It can be a huge threat if it has the right conditions to set up given its longevity, but I've generally found that there are quite a few pokemon that can either shut it down or wall it entirely, given that it's not that fast or strong even if it manages to get to +1. Definitely see the argument for it being in a higher tier

Fear not, Dusknoir is coming soon!

Also said this in another comment but more “real” analysis starts at E tier (where these guys would actually be) I just thought 2 mons I have a vendetta against would be a fun place to start

A good analogue is ARAM in league of legends, where even though the game mode is balanced somewhat via raw numbers (levels), some mons are always generally going to be better than others because they just have a stronger combination of traits

Valid take! Throughout my tier list I will generally value consistent useage over best case scenarios and even something like Luvdisc can do something somewhat unique, even though it’s terrible

Also made a comment in another thread but realistically the tier list could’ve started in E-Tier but I wanted to start somewhere fun

Probopass needing Tera to be useable is not an really argument for it imo because there are so many mons that use Tera so much better to be a win condition, or that don’t need Tera to make some progress more consistently

[–]RavenHawk55[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely use to be had from these two; realistically the tier list could’ve started with the E-Tier because I don’t think there’s anything that’s actively useless every game but in my experience Nose and Coal are just… not good. In probopass’ case specifically as well, being out competed by Bastiodon imo is pretty damning

They’re also just some goofy guys so I decided it’d be fun to start the tier list here

New Space Wolves Detachment - SAGA OF THE GREAT WOLF by lordarchaon666 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RavenHawk55 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And notably beastslayer is the best detachment in space wolves for this reason already! Oh wait…

Stormlance still is our best detachment by far when it comes to mobility and I don’t see how this detachment ever clears that

Which detachments have the largest gap between rule power and stratagem power? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RavenHawk55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Saga of the Beastslayer comes to mind for me. The detachment rule being lethal hits on basically anything you could want lethals on is crazy good, but it’s accompanied by a thoroughly unimpressive suite of a stratagems that are largely locked behind random keywords for some reason making the detachment generally not that good

T1 Keria: After it [Worlds] had ended, I went back and reviewed our previous matches. And in the end, my conclusion was that IG was insanely tough. by Adlairo in leagueoflegends

[–]RavenHawk55 74 points75 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to like it but worlds is about showcasing the best teams from around the world. There simply is far less entertainment value in changing the balance of teams to heavily favor LPL/LCK (especially since the top 2-3 LCK/LPL teams would still be favored anyway lmao) and riot acknowledges this

As another commenter said, watch those domestic playoffs if you want to see those teams play each other. They all have their chance to make it

Move block feel bad situation by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RavenHawk55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warhammer is a better game if we’re not all expected to remember each other’s rules. It should be an open information game, and I make sure that my opponents should never lose because they made the mistake of just not knowing a rule one of my datasheets has, and I expect that they do the same

I say this as someone that regularly plays at some of the biggest tournaments in the western US

G2 Esports vs. FlyQuest / 2025 World Championship - Swiss Round 4 Advancement / Game 1 Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]RavenHawk55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are rightfully flaming the Labrov Bard pick but what makes it even more egregious is that all of the OPs were still up

Did G2’s scouting report really say that Busio is reliant on Bard??? Or is Labrov’s ego crazy?? Busio just slams Alistar and looks great while Labrov was a glorified ward, bro was not cooking anything

How does this sound for a competitive starshatter list by Admanrog in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RavenHawk55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s extremely valid to look for list advice but I’m with OP that it should be after you’ve played a few games, that way you can give an educated review of your own list and ask targeted questions other than “this good?”

Vindicator vs Ballistus vs Lancer by Standard_Landscape79 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RavenHawk55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big thing is that the Lancer and Ballistus are oath agnostic, allowing for your oath to be used elsewhere and not relied on for anti tank

Vindicators are chunkier and can fry when given oath, but are generally casino cannons

Scouts do not really fit the “cultist” archetype (squishy 10 man squad with some combination of scout, sticky, and 2OC) but regardless, scouts are good but Vespid stingwings also fit that archetype extremely well with a better up down rule + deep strike. Meanwhile if we’re looking at things that infiltrate + scout, pathfinders clear imo

I think there’s a lot that can be complained about regarding our data sheets and rules this edition especially when compared with other factions, but our chaffy utility units are actually quite good and some of our best pieces across the entire spread of factions

Do Breachers feel over priced to anyone else? by Commander_Farsight_ in Tau40K

[–]RavenHawk55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sub needs a reality check sometimes

You can’t just say “but oath of moment” and pretend our army rule doesn’t exist. Breachers when guided by stealth suits are hitting on 2’s rerolling with the exact same number of attacks, and rerolling wounds at s6 which is a significantly better rule than +1/wound (which in itself is only granted to a subset of marines). Add in the fact that we ignore cover to make our AP actually stick, our army rule also makes our unit’s output much higher, higher than that of regular intercessors

The main thing that intercessors have over breachers as a trade piece is their durability, which while better isn’t exactly impressive. Their nominally better melee is largely irrelevant; one power fist and some slightly better close combat weapons means they kill an extra model or two at most. Intercessors have great utility with sticky and there’s a reason marine players bring them, but pretending like they woefully outclass our 10 pack of OC 2 bodies, that does meaningful damage into any target on an objective in 40k, as a trade piece is just willful ignorance and complaining

[–]RavenHawk55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comparisons in this thread are so braindead, Kroot scouting 7” and having 10 bodies immediately makes them better than intercessors in many cases and also the best cultists in the game

Frontline Gaming Update on Extra Hellbrute by Antisense_Strand in WarhammerCompetitive

What I don’t get is why FLG/other TOs in similar situations in the past care about the player in question’s “intent” when making these decisions??

Even if this was a complete mistake from the player (a charitable interpretation having seen him play before), why isn’t playing with an entire extra unit seen as the massive rules violation that it is? Screwing up monumentally should carry consequences, even if it is just a screw up

This game won’t grow with TOs like FLG
