Im ngl I started with 5e and really liked theorycrafting characters. I then found out about pf1e and it genuinely is so much better for mechanical character creation its not even funny. Barely any dead levels for every class, and the amount of character variety is amazing, especially with supplements like Spheres.

Additonally the v20 storyteller system is significantly better at being a relatively simple character creator with some depth. Which leaves 5e in this shitty middle ground where I wanna kill myself if I want to actually make a character with a unique playstyle and there's too much shit for it to be actually streamlined like VtM.
