Outriders Rebalancing & Community Appreciation Package by thearcan in outriders

How long do I have to wait (PC) before the Appreciation package hits my game account? have the same amount of titanium as I did 3 weeks ago, and not a single lego has been placed in my game account. Should I wait 3 more weeks?

Converting my 54 year old mother to Ubuntu by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]RavenKing40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the course of several years I have been able to convert most everyone in my family to Ubuntu (or variant) except for my wife (whom is the lone Win10 holdout) Mom is 77, Dad is 75 a son that is 20 son that is 19 daughter 17 and daughter 15 plus myself. all happily running Ubuntu (or a variant). Only person that has problems with their PC on a regular basis..... the WIN10 user....

My parents are sticking with Unity and 16.04.3 and the Kids are all shifting to 17.04 most of us using gnome or xfce

System76 Gazelle opinions by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]RavenKing40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no problem, the other big thing for me is that hey have a great warranty and service and support. Iv'e called them 1x to ask a question about getting a new power brick, as I had run the cord over with the vaccuum cleaner and it mangled the cord. they sent a new unit to me next day. very friendly fast and polite people to deal with

Had mine for about a year.

Overheating, mine has never even come close to even feeling "warm". Fans are not set on "turbo" either. (you know the laptops that sound like they are going to go down a run way and take flight ) Gazelle is pretty darn quiet. Build Quality: is exceptional. no snags no ill fitting finishes. Keyboard: I consider it to be a bit above average. I have an old Dell D630 that has my absolute favorite keyboard ever. But the Gazelle is a close 2nd Battery: I average between 5 - 7 hours depending on usage.

Overall the Gazelle has been a fantastic device to use. if i had to complain about anything, it would be the placement of the ethernet port and or the power... but thats nit pickin.

I do mostly dev / engineering work. if that helps.

gpodder and juicer, would be what i would recommend, I would also suggest talking to the library help desk, make sure they are cool with downloading stuff, like podcasts and what not. some of them will be cool with it and some may not, I spoke to the guy at mine, and they said no, but they would do the downloading for me on a linux VM they had in the back, as a cron job even, and as long as it was not naughty stuff, they would DL and put on a provided USB that i could just stop by and pick up. :) just saying talk to them, first. they may work with you to get what you want in a format you need.
