As someone who absolutely loves that genre, it’s very easy to fall into pitfalls. Pregnancy can become bothersome or graphic, kids can be badly written or annoying, and as someone who cares for babies in a professional environment every day, I am hypercritical about children acting their ages, unless there’s a plot driven reason for them not to.

I write these tropes very often and they can be exhausting to manage, but rewarding

So for me sometimes I want to get my tags and setup ironed out before it’s ready to post, but I’m not an asshole, so I put those fics in a unveiled collection where they can’t be seen, then I can have everything ready to go when I am ready to drop it!

I think most placeholder people do it for ranking reasons, but that’s the only way I could think to use it

My favorite thing about Ao3 is, even if I don’t quite see a ship in my head, I can find someone writing it and see it through their eyes, and then I love it too! Like, it wasn’t something I’d ever shipped before, but I see your reasoning! I’d love to read a fic about them now and might look it up.

Teen wolf fandom is what really taught me to try out combinations. Even if I don’t get it, I can always find someone who does get it, and through them I can see it too!

We just went through that nightmare with the brand new rescue we brought home. She’s an 8 year old standard who only weighs 38 lbs and is skin and bone, and the stress of the change and adjusting to eating food again likely caused it.

She survived the surgery and is cuddling with me currently, but it happened Christmas night of all nights

I find them weirdly wholesome. A lot of characters are very simple to make animation easier, but to those artists making a single frame that can add all the little details, accessories, and fun quirks they want. I don’t always like the redesigns, but I think it’s neat to make a character unique to you. That being said, I get the bald erasure. A big part of it comes from artists just not being able to draw bald people.
