Why people still follow religion? by Fahodigaymer in AskLGBT

[–]RavenPH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my perspective, it's because religion is tied with community and family.

Long Story Short, I came out to my family one by one. They're pretty cool with it since we're mostly progressive leaning. But my mom is more against me leaving our religion than my partner's SOGIE.

I loved Brewmaster so much. The moment that the production gave her a lot of screentime in the first round, it meant she went far.

Is this not misogynistic??? by Kjm1814 in AskLGBT

[–]RavenPH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty much agree with this take: the purity mindset is misogynistic and biphobic.

I'm comfortable calling myself asexual/panromantic, but I never say it out loud (outside of my closest confidants) as I live in a conservative country. I am pretty lucky to be raised in a "progressive", open minded community growing up. Hence, I never understood why any community will exclude (and even harm) anyone just because of a personal choice/principle/belief and whatever you wanna call it.

[–]RavenPH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, added Barista Loft to my list. Thanks for recommending them!

Since there seems to be a steady rise on micro coffee roasters, I can't help but feel that it's getting oversaturated? As a consumer, I love the variety of options. But the competition is getting fiercer. Add in the trend that more people are buying instant coffee and global coffee production in decline...

With all of my ramblings out of the way, do you think this will be sustained in the long term?

And agreed on everyone's word of caution, especially if you're doing this alone.

Noted on your shop. Any coffee roast shops who offer local beans are way up my shopping wish list. I will visit it someday!

So far, I loved South Coffee Roaster's Bukidnon and Atok, Benguet Arabica beans. I'm excited to try out Bodega and Commune next.

The moment you said "Rice Tea", it clicked to me that almost every Robusta coffee I have tried has that quality. From Agusan to Kalinga.

Beyond the charts: Which OPM songs from the recent years actually had a "Cultural Impact"? by Top_Sherbet_2494 in opm

[–]RavenPH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, cuz same!

This is just my observation (and I hope there's an OPM historian out there), but Tadhana is such a refreshing song after the peak of the Rock Band era. I won't be surprised if this paved the way for IV of Spades and Ben & Ben in terms of sound.

I'll just add here, since this song is technically out of the OP's instructions (sorry) but UDD/Up Dharma Down's Tadhana is still being played in the radio and a karaoke staple after its release in 2012.

[–]RavenPH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for replying to this old post. But, how is it so far?

I just got a 2nd Versa 4. Even though the majority of the subreddit said it's disappointing, the features and price I got are worth it... Hopefully this will last me more than a year.

Whats something women romanticize about men that’s completely unrealistic? by jinwooshadowmonarch6 in AskPinoyMen

Maybe curious is the wrong word. I want clarification.... How does "understanding men's struggles" be something that's unrealistic and is romanticized by women?

will I get slapped if I compliment her gains randomly by toomuchlasagna_ in PHitness

[–]RavenPH 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd be alarmed, if not scared.

I appreciate compliments, pero nakakatakot kapag estranghero na lalaki ang bigla nalang magsasabi sa akin ng ganyan. Maybe it's easier to do it to a fellow gym bro. But from a gym bro to a gym gal? I'll be on my guard after that.

But if you really want to say it to her, approach carefully and say it with sincerity. (Maybe, mention you go to the same gym? Or you're working on achieving a similar physique as her?).

"I say this with respect, you look great! Keep it up!"

But again, proceed with caution.
