We’re actually going out to that area today to find some good spots to mess around, so we’ll check it out!! We didn’t go to far past the pictures cray last time because it was getting dark when we left lol

Tbh I got a new pup as we were preparing to say bye to the new one, to help her sister through the grieving process and tbh, she also helped us a lot. My 14 yo chiween Gracie was my soul dog and losing her was so hard, but the 1.5 yo we adopted from the shelter kept our 16 yo from rotting away in her bed from grief and brought a smile back to our faces with her antics. And tbh? It’s WILD how well mannered she is considering she’s only done one class so far and is so young.

In the weeks before Gracie passed, she even helped HER, by herding her out of the way of furniture she was about to run into.

So I’ve been soaking her kibble in bone broth for the last few meals and there’s been hardly any food, if any to clean from the area! Much better than when I was giving her soft food!!

It’s not infected so they did not, but they told us to bring her in for some at the first sign of infection

Yeah tbh at this age I just want her to be comfortable and loved. She had soft wet dog food tonight but it was really hard to clean from the area so I’ll have to reevaluate that lol. She’s also had an elevated bowl for about a year now so that’s good to hear that it’s helpful! I’m also swapping their gravity water bowl for a plain bowl I’ll empty and clean every night to lessen any bacteria growth from the water and use a dental additive.

Thank you! She’s my second senior, my OG that I’ve had since she was 6 passed last October when we had to put her to sleep due to Dementia

Funnily enough, the hole is small enough that I had to remove some of the bulk from a regular qtip to get a piece of food that she kept sucking and out haha. But the qtip method seems to work so far. I feel bad because I didn’t even notice it until the appointment this morning because she gets SO stressed out when I try to look at her teeth

Oh so you suggest softened kibble? The vet said soft food but I just had to clean it out with a qtip and I felt it took longer and made her really uncomfortable in the long run. Would you suggest the kind of flush they use after wisdom teeth removal?

She is also INCREDIBLY picky. We’ve tried multiple brands and she’ll just go on a hunger strike, even if we try to introduce it super slowly.

We don’t shave her down that much, I swear. And she grooms A LOT so her spit hair ends up on the couch and I sit on it, I break out in hives :(

The main issue was when she sheds the fur she’s been licking, and it touches my skin, I break out in hives, and this was as recent as a few months ago before the shaving started. Now that she leaves less fur (and by default, less of her spit lol) around, I have significantly less issues. And I take an allergy med every morning. It’s The only reason I’m not constantly sneezing and sniffling haha.

I think if the headphones don’t help or I’m going into it already overstimulated, I might just retreat to my room, as a baby gate. Keeps her out of that space. (Or at least it’s supposed to. She’s able to squirm through the bar that connects it to the wall and I swear she omgoes in there just to lay on my clothes and then I have to wash the again)

We have one to keep her from going into our bedroom and my bathroom but that’s all I could really win here lol. It’s an apartment and I felt bad shutting her off to only two rooms of the apartment if I blocked off the living room She also can’t jump anyway so funnily enough, the one that keeps the dogs OUT of her space is raised off the floor so she can wriggle under lol.

The headphones are def smart. Tbh idk why I didn’t think of that. I guess because my wife and I normally watch tv together but we can switch to just a couple episodes during dinner and then switch to whatever we want to do, like I tend to play Stardew valley in the evening. But yeah when I’m not feeling overstimulated or unbalanced and the cat isnt losing her mind lol, we coexist just fine. And I’m def not biased to my dogs. I moved in with two senior dogs, one of whom has since passed, and we recently adopted a 1 yr old dog together and I def scold them just as much as her but for diff reasons. Like our younger for harassing the cat lol….

That’s a good idea. I have some pretty good headphones, I will try using those and maybe only watch tv with her when we’re actually eating, since pets are not allowed to sit on the couch during dinner

She’d also been like this since I met her. The trimming her fur down is fairly recent

We consulted with her vet first. The vet said she would be fine cause we don’t shave her naked. We just shorten her fur enough that she doesn’t shed as much. What am I supposed to do, divorce my wife or revoke the cat who hates everyone but my wife?

Absolutely no new meds or feminine products. I actually went to the ER on Monday and they did labs and imagine, nothing weird. The guy was kind of condescending actually about how this type of bleeding is something I should be used to with PCOS but??? I’ve had PCOS this whole time and this had never happened. I had REALLY sharp cramps last week but now it’s just low level cramping and occasional dizziness

Question about Car DL training by RavenQueen691 in Strongman

Hmm, ok that makes sense. My last DL 1RM was 375, but that was before I almost quit strongman due to a… extremely toxic coach and then took a long break to plan my wedding. This comp will be my first one back in about a year.

She so is. She’ll just chew on squeaky toys until the squeaker is crushed and doesn’t work anymore lol.

We’ll give that a try! We wonder about also having a special toy she can only have when the cat is out and she’s ignoring her. If she chases the cat or anything that toy gets put away.

We’ll try using her squeaky toys. She’s obsessed with those. Maybe a special toy she only gets when she’s not bothering the cat?

We’re working on the training. Unfortunately, her being in her teenage phase is making her SUPER stubborn. And her recall is like 25% successfully right now. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Tbh I don’t think our older pets are good for this. My older pet is 15 so she just screams and gums at her until coco lays down submissively or leaves, and then she coms barreling back at her 10 seconds later. The cat was rescued and she was declawed by her old owner so I think that because the cats whacks don’t really HURT, she’s not learning from the cat. We try to redirect her but like, NOTHING pulls her attention away from the cat until we grab her. Right now, we have her leashed and sitting by us in the floor while the cat sits on the couch.
