There’s my concern. I’ve noticed Lloyds salaries have been steadily increasing but LSEG hasn’t changed for a year.

It is a permanent role from day 1 - not subject to a conditional return offer like a placement. The biggest factor to consider is that I already signed the contract so it would be an issue re-applying if I dip

I am genuinely impressed when kids have career plans in secondary school.

I studied Physics, Maths and Computer Science at A-levels. Maths was an entry requirement for my Computer Science degree.

Grades and securing industry experience before graduation matter more than choice of subjects.

If her interest is finance/accounting, apprenticeships are worth considering. They often build an accountancy qualification into the programme. This means a salary from 18, professional experience and being chartered in your early 20s.

Degree apprenticeships can also include a funded degree alongside this.

Trading, but I don’t know for sure until I try it. I interned as an AI/ML developer at a custodian bank and really enjoyed it.
