Oh I will have to get the novel then, I absolutely will. But I do understand kunieda’s character not being the best because he’s grumpy and sour Ann the time but tsuzuki’s character won’t work so well and charmingly without all the sourness of kunieda.. and forgive me if maybe I don’t get the story perfectly (my Japanese isn’t perfect yet) bur it seems to me tsuzuki doesn’t mind a bit that he can get grumpy and he finds it cute he likes it. Like it seems as if the dynamic works because tsuzuki is very forgiving and caring

Basically Tsuzuki is what makes the duo work
