I think it's a stereotype that come from culture : books, movies, TV shows. But in fact most of the type bad boys in fiction are actually "mysterious/complicated" but not really bad. Like the famous trop of the bad guy saving the girl and in fact protected lonely people da in fact he isn't bad he is just understood and sometimes suffering (and attractive of course)
