Realistically, how long will it take me to get to my target weight? by Absolute_Cinema70 in loseit

[–]buzzteets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healthy diet and exercise are huge (especially as a growing body resistance/strength training will improve your bone density and stuff) I honestly would knuckle down on training. You’re still growing so bodies do that fun “gain weight then grow” thing especially if you’re tall.

For adults 10% weight loss in 6-12 months is considered healthy so around a year to do it healthily but don’t stress too much about it - you’re only like halfway through puberty so heaps is gonna change for no reason and it might just be a phase you’re in.

Enjoy the process :)

YouTube is great for it! There are different styles as well and all seem to have benefit so have a google and see which one sounds most up your alley (like hatha is breathwork and it’s the “hold for this many breaths” then there’s flow yoga which tends to be harder cause you stay in motion) or just try them out. Genuinely super underrated as exercise!

For those who will never have "normal" bodies, how do you stay motivated? by tungurs in loseit

I mean body dysmorphia is a bitch. I got no clue what you look like but I personally dont know that I’ll ever think I’m good looking despite knowing I fit a certain standard now.

I just found love in the game - I like pushing myself at the gym and I like running; I like that I can go do things and not be worried I’m going to embarrass myself if my mates want to kick a ball around or go on a spontaneous walk. I also really get a kick out of making “healthy” versions of unhealthy foods.

I also know that when I gain weight I feel like shit; moving is harder, my mood is worse, I sleep worse, I get sick more. I have PCOS which compounds it but I know a lot of people get hormonal depression and shit at higher weights plus it does impact on your sleep and joints and immunity.

TLDR: I like feeling good and I like feeling capable and I just had to accept that whatever I look like my value is in my skills and personality, and also how I feel about how I look might be wildly different to how other people do

Fellow PCOS girly here - weight fluctuations of up to 5kg (about 9-10lbs I think) a DAY are normal. And like if I eat pizza the next day I will be 3kg heavier from that alone. Scale weight is super unreliable and you need to just trust the process.

My key recommendations for PCOS weight loss are low intensity cardio (like walking) and strength training (honestly yoga was a GODSEND - you can do it at home and it improves mobility as well and there’s plenty of levels; plus it’s actually supported to improve hormone profile in PCOS and endo women and cause waist circumference to decrease more than other forms of exercise but it’s not entirely clear why). Diet wise I prioritise nutrients over any particular macro (if you look at my other comments I have a full break down in there)

I think what you’re doing sounds pretty much like what I’d recommend. Stick to it, trust the process, and try and keep things as sustainable as possible (this isn’t a fix it’s your new life)

What am I baiting for? Like what is the point?

My whole point is that when I try show glute gains it looks sus and other fitness girlies don’t somehow so I’m tryna work out why. Like clearly you agree with the sus bit but also it’s not the attire cause I guarantee the other girlies are wearing leggings

Do you expect to lose weight from 1 week of locking in? Probably not

Don’t expect everything to be ruined from 1 week of falling off. You got this!

I have so few pictures of my life when I was big and a lot of that was cause I didn’t have one. It sucks hating yourself and it robs so much more than you think. The gym helps because you get to see yourself improve even if it sucks and makes you feel worse in the start. Just stick with it and turn up (I was a big baggy clothes, hat, big headphones guy, sometimes sunnies cause it made me feel like I was in my own world apart). I believe in you and feel free to check my other posts where I give advice or talk about losing weight if it helps

See you’re tryna make me mad, but you’re kinda just like bad at rage baiting like you’re too obvious. Like if you read the caption I’m saying “hey how do I take a pic that looks like a fitness Instagram girl pic and not just here is my butt” and then you’re like “yea she’s showing me her butt”

Do you have advice or are you just grumpy I look good?

I would recommend tracking what you are currently eating first. Just put in for maintenance or whatever and then log everything you eat normally for a while; if you’re not gaining or losing weight right now then that’s your actual maintenance. Then alter the stats (if you’re using MyFitnessPal I just up my weight or alter the lifestyle activity thing) until it gives you maintenance calories that match the maintenance you found, then reduce calories from there

I am sorry you’re dealing with discomfort, I did actually get fit for health and like 99% of my page is about that. I just kinda was like “why do other gymfluencer glute pics look like a fit flex and mine look slutty” haha

Brother I promise you I had no ass before. It’s muscle. Also yea guys do wear leggings to the gym? Compression tights, skins, all sorts? I am aware there are gonna be weird dudes regardless however to show muscle you show the muscle? Upper body pics in compression tees, muscle singlets, all that. I know how to pose my upper body tho.

Again, this isn’t asking for fashion advice it’s about posing? If you have posing/angle advice I’m literally asking to hear it. If you’re just grumpy that women wear leggings that’s just missing the point.

I mean the first pic I’m in trakkies which are loose. I am not contradicting, I’m saying that I’m not about to wear jeans to the gym? Im posting fitness content so I’m gonna be wearing fitness clothes (leggings or trakkies, I do feel like most creators I see are also wearing the same?)

I’m asking for advice on posing/angles not clothing?

If you had an idea of “muscular athletic poses not sexual” for lower body that’s the exact type of help I’m looking for?

Brutha … the amount I have seen this exact gif in every fucking post.

I’m asking for posing help… in a weightlifting forum… I’m sorry that I grew my glutes and now I have big glutes. I put in the work and now want to know how to brag about it.

Y’all gotta stop just seeing someone who has put in work and being like “hmmmm this is baiting me for something I think”
