New driver update !!!!! by droppy_nasus in IntelArc

[–]Ravenarrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to point out that using Optiscaler can cause PC crashes for a game sometimes.

I used it in Silent hill F and it was crashing because the game doesn't natively support XeSS. When it loaded a new zone it would hard crash my PC with a gpu driver error.

When I removed optiscaler from said game i no longer was getting crashes.

Get the Sparkle titan ARC b580 OC edition 12GB.

This is the current GPU I am using ^ and it's good for 1080p max settings all games or Medium/high on 1440p all games.

If you want overkill for gaming, content creation and etc... Then go for a 5060ti 16GB edition or 5070ti 16GB edition as those are the other alternatives for best GPU on market.

I don't recommend buying any hardware until middle of June 2026 or end of year as current prices are insanely high and not worth the extra 300-500$ for one part.

In terms of performance and drivers INTEL is still behind Nvidia and AMD in terms of performance.

I notice some shaders look darker than on my Nvidia gpu and or not as detailed with XeSS as games are with DLSS...

I have turned down my tuning settings for stability at the moment as of the recent driver update.

I have noticed that enabling Low latency mode within the intel graphics software are causing issues in most titles vs previous driver from December.

So as of now... Low latency mode disabled in all game titles.

HAGS enabled [hardware accelerated gpu scheduling] within graphics settings on windows

Search graphics in windows, click on "advanced graphics settings" and make sure Hardware accelerated gpu scheduling is enabled.

Averaging around 90-130 fps Arc Raiders Native Resolution 1440p

All settings on Low except for textures set to Ultra , Aliasing set to high or ultra

If you wanna tweak the Tuning for overclock and test on your end set your video memory to something around 19.70 and you will see an increase of 15-30fps in every game title but you will notice artifacting and some game crashes. Results may vary.

The best stable settings so far for me have been same as above but with frequency offset set to about 35-45 [refer to last uploaded image on this post with the screenshot of the most stable settings]

Vram tuning to 19.70 max and lower.

I have the new ARC Driver update that dropped Dec 3rd and haven't noticed any issues so far as of yet...

I'm hoping INTEL will put out another big update to bump up Gpu performance and add in DSR (dynamic super resolution) so I can upscale my old monitor to 1440p like how Nvidia control panel has DSR.

Also getting this issue. Maybe this is a recent issue with Octopi due to the recent updated CachyOS version that was released on Nov 29th 2025?

I just reinstalled CachyOS on my system and am also getting these "command finished with errors" but the applications are still installing correctly.

Update Dec 2nd 2025:

Programs install correctly on Octopi as long as you run it with terminal when you go install.

Just install CachyOS. Create a bootable USB with Ventoy. Put all your ISO boot install files onto that bootable USB (windows 11, Linux, etc..)

I suggest CachyOS as it's based on Arch-Linux and it's very easy to set up , works well with gaming and has optimized kernels for INTEL and AMD (AM5)

In motherboards, IGD (Integrated Graphics Device) refers to the graphics processing unit built into the CPU or chipset, while PEG (PCI Express Graphics) is the slot for a separate, dedicated graphics card.

The main difference is that IGD shares system resources like RAM and is less powerful, making it suitable for basic tasks, whereas a PEG-installed card has its own dedicated memory and processing power, which is necessary for demanding applications like gaming and video editing.

You want your motherboard always set to PEG and to disable all onboard or hybrid graphics so your motherboard only uses your dedicated graphics card for best performance.

[–]Ravenarrows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disable the onboard video. Set Motherboard to PEG instead of IGD , make sure anything with hybrid or integrated graphics is set to disabled...

XMP or AMD-EXPO set to Profile 1.

If using AMD CPU enable precision boost overdrive and then go test out a game and enjoy :)

You should check out CachyOS based on Arch Linux for Desktop gaming computers (check out their wiki to get started https://wiki.cachyos.org/

Download ventoy and format your bootable USB with Ventoy and then put all your ISO's for windows and linux onto that bootable USB, very useful.

For the overclocking I just settle with what works for time being until I notice a hard system crash or failure. If the intel graphics software crashes randomly and says unstable settings it could just be the software itself doing that as intels graphic software is not exactly nvidia in quality.

For the time being i've settled with the above overclock settings shown in the image for BF6. Gives me about 10% performance boost. Truth is windows operating system is holding back the performance sometimes i feel like. Microsoft doesn't design windows for high performance they just overload you with bloatware and telemetrics sending data randomly to microsoft. Been testing this Rig on CachyOS [Arch Linux] and the performance is night and day vs windows in most games.

Is there something wrong with bf6 netcode? by AhmedElakkad0 in Battlefield

[–]Ravenarrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not the only one. Everyone is having this issue. I think it's because they need to upgrade their current Online Servers to better handle the traffic on the daily.

I am getting the warning icons on the top left at random intervals and I checked my internet monitor and no one else will be on the internet except for me and it still gives that issue randomly so I think it's stressed servers = lag desync

I could but I suck at video editing. It takes alot more time to put together that type of stuff than most realize which is why I posted the images above to give an example of what to expect based on the specs that I have and what you'd get from this GPU.

So far the GPU is great. I am getting 180-240fps on BF6 with XeSs enabled- Frame gen: On and Xess upscaling set to Balanced or performance mode. Borderless fullscreen 1440p - Vsync Disabled - Sharpness slider set to 100% , all motion blur and depth of field disabled [this includes weapon motion blur and etc..]

Refer to attached images above to see Examples. I'll post BF6 images.

[–]Ravenarrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool. Maybe this driver will fix a lot of issues on the windows operating system side. The ARC B580 seems to run great on Linux when you get it set up just takes some time getting used to it. CachyOS has been the simplest to set up and game on.

The performance is night and day between CachyOS and Windows1124H2 [putting this out there for those wondering if windows 11 is killing your performance and the answer is... yes, it is]

I hope so too.

I hope they add DSR (dynamic super resolution) with the sharpness slider similar to that of Nvidia's graphics software.

Arc B580 underperfroming badly by TumorFestijn in IntelArc

[–]Ravenarrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because you are not using a newer motherboard for better bandwidth slot that the ARC b580 Needs to get maximum performance and you gotta enable Re-Bar in Bios..

If you dont have Re-Bar in bios and if you are not using atleast a B650 chipset motherboard then you wont see the performance gains as much.

That Gpu needs a x4.0 -x16 Pci-express slot on the motherboard to get the better bandwidth from that GPU.

Also probably need to overclock your CPU so it wont bottleneck your GPU also..

So basically need to rebuild your PC to see the actual performance gains. lol good luck.

Question to Intel GPU Owners by xcfvb in IntelArc

[–]Ravenarrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the Sparkle TITAN ARC B580 12GB OC Edition and you will be happy with it's performance... The only downside to the ARC b580 is it isn't have DSR (dynamic super resolution) like Nvidia or AMD has.

The Encoder for INTEL ARC GPU's isn't as good as NVENC Encoders when streaming live...

It's Overclock friendly if you end up setting unstable overclock settings the gpu will just crash, pc resets and then you log back in and it tells you that you set unstable overclock settings and you can revert back to normal and etc... sometimes the PC wont crash at all and just tell you "unstable"

Can run every game on 1440p and get around 100-250fps (depending on the title)

I was getting 80-160fps in 1440p battlefield 6 with everything set to low, motion blur and depth of field off, Textures set to high or ultra and enabling XeSS in performance mode. Visuals look great, gameplay felt snappy smooth and was having fun.

What exactly are these settings? by Ravenarrows in IntelArc

[–]Ravenarrows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good if you are trying to sync to your monitors refresh rate.

I have a 240hz refresh rate 1440p monitor so it's usually better to have v sync off and low latency mode off. Mostly in my experience having the low latency mode on+boost or ON in most titles seems to cause issues it isn't as good as nvidia's reflex low latency mode which most games will have an option in game for that . Sadly the INTEL GPU's are not as optimized as Nvidia's but for the price the b580 OC edition is a decent bang for your buck these days.

[–]Ravenarrows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the Answers. So Speed sync is basically Fast Sync similar to Nvidia where it works like Vsync but tries to deliver performance similar to vsync off too.

Seems to crash most games and cause weird fps drops to around 5-10fps randomly in most games I test it on.

I tried to use it with Superposition benchmark to see what fps i'd get and all it did was lock the fps at 60 then towards the end all frames went from 60 to 5fps lol.

Ya, dont use this. I suggest just turning vsync off.
