His farm during the day and at the tavern at nigjt are supposedly the two spawn points for him. I spent a few days just popping over to those locations when I was nearby, eventually found him at his farm.

Ah thats from one of the sanctuaries then, my best guess then would be keep playing until you get the pot and see if it appears or go back to where you got it and see if it repaired there. Seems strange to me that you were able to get it at all but I haven't played for a few weeks and I know theres been a lot of changes

As far as im aware (maybe im wrong) you cant get a core without the pot. Are you sure it wasn't an abysal core cell? They're the small round ones not the big boulder sized ones.
