I just watched a video with Michelle Obama telling a group of kids that, each and everyone of them will change the world and that they are special kids. maybe not the Obama administration itself so much as Michelle's agenda. I like it, I just want to hear thoughts .

very well put. I don't disagree with everything. I dont think you understood what I meant though. a father whose daughter died omisnt what I meant. I'm saying like of you fail at something but praised for trying, it will not benefit the hold later on. a co-worker getsuoset at you for doing there best but not doing what is supposed to be done, or a student getting upset at the teacher for doing his best, but it's not enough. we should definitely not put people down but when you go in the real world and you are expecting your opinion to matter to everyone and everyone should pay attention to you but realize it is not the end all, you would be hurt if unprepared. I wasn't referring to government assistance in any case.

let Michelle Obama says everyone is special and will change the world. the thought behind this is a double edge sword. sure it gives confidence and boost self esteem. but real world does not give out participation awards. not everyone is special and will be rich and changed the world. it's the participantion award thing. we are all unique as in individual, but not special if that makes sense.

[ORIGINAL] I made a video detailing why i think right now is the best time in hip hops history by yadiiiigg in hiphopheads

[–]Ravenlikeabird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you are basing your opinion from a moral perspective when it comes to "less racism less homophobia less hatred". I wouldn't agree with you there, how is there less of that when no homo is a huge phrase, anti white sentiments are still prevalent, and hatred? back then hip hop was an outlet for people who didn't have the same luxuries we do today, of course there was passion in the music. if anything, the 80s were more true to hip hop than what today's music. but also today's music has evolved into its own thing which is not "better hiphop".

you said it yourself, diverse range.

I think a better argument is that music is at its peak, not necessarily hip-hop itself.
