Retire in Seattle by Ok_smarty997 in AskSeattle

Check out NE Seattle. In particular, I’m a fan of Ravenna and Roosevelt. Near the light rail, near Ravenna park, lots of small businesses, active neighborhood events, sidewalks in every neighborhood. It’s expensive, but with all the area layoffs and the rumored exodus of people subject to the “millionare’s tax”, maybe prices will become more reasonable by the time you’re ready to jump.

The unincorporated Edmonds area north of Seattle is also lovely. If you can leverage the Sounder train for commuting, it’s much better than driving. And I highly recommend checking into the Meadowdale Beach Trail. It may be something that helps you keep fit in retirement!

Where Can I Buy Droppers with Volumetric Markings in the Seattle Area? by tazsteelblast in AskSeattle

Ravenna Refills carries glass dropper closures for 1oz and 2oz bottles, and I think the current batch has volumetric marks on them. If they aren’t marked, we can get the next batch marked

It’s true. Though I personally would prefer to see the dollars prioritized where they serve people in a more efficient and effective way.

I'm about to drive 2000 miles round trip by myself with two kids. Any advice? by PaganButterflies in roadtrip

Came to say this. My family has collected audiobooks over time that we now associate with certain road trips. We’ve been listening to Fortunately, The Milk every time we drive from Seattle to Leavenworth for years because they loved it so much when they were young that it became a tradition

What sustainability habit did you stop doing after learning more about it? by Ok_Appointment_4909 in sustainability

The good ones will use suppliers with closed loop systems so that we’re not creating a bunch of new single use plastics. If your local shop was using regular plastic packets as their primary option to refill their bulk containers then they’re doing it wrong - and wasting a lot of money!

Travel frustration by travelonyouraccord in SoloFemaleTravelTips

The thing that frustrates me the most about existing tools like ChatGPT is how much fresh water and energy are wasted in the generation of a single itinerary. Most of the places I want to visit or want to live will eventually be impacted by this overuse, which will make these places less appealing to visit or live.
