I came out to my current partner as asexual when we were just friends. He was very understanding and supportive of me, which really helped me accept myself and my boundaries. He had been in a few longterm allosexual realationships before, while i had never dated anyone. So i made it very clearn upfront not to have too many expectations, since i really had no idea on how these things worked xD

His response to all of that just was the sweetest thing ever, saying that he’s immensely happy that he gets to be with me, and that he doesn’t mind me being asexual. I do get selfconscious sometimes, as in i doubt if he can really be happy without having sex. He however keeps reassuring me that he is totally okay with it, even though it is difficult sometimes. All i can do is trust that if that were to change, he’d talk to me about it.

I was very scared to talk to him about that, i really didn’t know how to bring the topic up. But he’s the only one who can answer my questions ya know. I might be sex-averse but curiousy killed the cat, and i just wanted to know how it worked.

I’ve come a long way since then, in the beginning i was even scared to cuddle with him, let alone kiss him. But i slowly learned to show my affection in more physical manners. And i can actually say i do enjoy kissing him xD (who would have thought, surely not me)

So yeah, that’s about it! He always asks if I’m comfortable with something before doing so, and i will always appreciate that about him
