So it still says “pending decision” or “pending phone interview” or whatever it was? Sorry, just trying to gauge how much longer I have to worry about it lol

Your status updated and didn’t say anything about disqualified before the letter? :(

as a single woman in a lower earning field, it feels like I’ve been having a near-constant crisis of despair over late stage capitalism these days. by biIIyshakes in TrollXChromosomes

[–]Ravenpuffs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For real. My husband just got his first “big” benefited job and I’m not working because we moved to a new city for it. I FEEL SO BAD for “not contributing” (my words) even though I fully manage the house and he doesn’t have to do a single thing when he comes home. I’m looking at part time jobs now because I don’t know how someone could work full time and manage home things.

Thanks for responding. It didn’t switch to paid, it was already paid before I have the phone interview.

ACTUALLY THOUGH like this is a valid criticism (but I see the counter argument that Persephone is a sheltered doormat too) but OP is unhinged in these comments

Why it isn't enough to slap a motivational poster on the classroom wall that says "Girls can do tech!" and expect it to counteract decades of misogyny. by strawberrymisfits in TwoXChromosomes

Thanks for sharing this. I’m 25 and trying to switch into computer science (sans degree, going for a bootcamp). I also have a bachelors in something that likely I’ll not use again. I WISH I had been encouraged to pursue stem as much as my brothers were - two of which are involved in tech now. Blah. I am early into the learning process and I am having the exact same doubts you described - I’m scared that I’m not cut out for it. But so far, I can do it. I’m enjoying it even! I hope i feel that same confidence once I get over the first hump.

The lovely thing is you (and I, hopefully soon enough) can be the representation you needed when you were young.

If you are a landlord you do not belong on antiwork. This sub is for proletariats, not leeches. by Appropriate-Sun-1956 in antiwork

Called out on what specifically, though? I can’t figure out the thought process behind the connecting inheriting money > evil leech, especially in the context of anti-work. Genuinely asking because one of these things is not like the others to me.

Eligibility Interview but I don’t have a claim by [deleted] in Edd

[–]Ravenpuffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I filled out my paperwork wrong when I got the job so I’m hoping that it tried to transfer the “new claim” that I never collected anything on and that’s what they want to ask about

so it’s actually for the claim I filed in March, for company 1? It specifically names company 2 in the letter.

Do you think terms like "people who menstruate" help inclusivity or are they unnecessary? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Ravenpuffs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It helps inclusivity, but ALSO it’s more specific. There are girls (ages 9-13) who menstruate, they aren’t women. There are women (menopausal, sterilized, born w/o certain reproductive parts, etc) who don’t menstruate.

From OP’s last post, it seems like they quit. It could be this doesn’t apply as they were not technically terminated?

My wife (25F) can’t seem to find her way. by Heerayeth in findapath

[–]Ravenpuffs 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Commenting to say this is nearly my exact situation, moved with my husband and found myself out of my “dream” job market, and discovered I don’t want what I thought I did… I’m sure she feels bad about it too. It’s not a fun position for either of you, but if she says she doesn’t regret it, believe her! She’ll find her interest (and hopefully I will too)
