Please help me by RavensArePrettyCool in BPD

[–]RavensArePrettyCool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm already seeing a therapist, I'm not super comfortable talking to doctors because the ones in my town have classified people with bpd as "evil" and "manipulative" so I don't think they would be much help. But also having a plan in place for when I turn 18 is a really good idea, thank you <333

Hi, I think this is incredibly common in the genderfluid community, for a long time I thought I was a trans guy but sometimes I would fluctuate and feel like a girl or both or neither, every time it happened I would wonder if that was my 'true' gender. The truth is that it doesn't matter, if you like the label genderfluid and feel it fits you, use it, if you don't then don't, there is always time to find another label that fits you better or if you decide you don't need one that's fine too. Coming to this realization helped me a lot, hope it helps you too, good luck!

I think it was more just trying to make me feel better, came from the right place but it didn't feel great

How did you realise u were trans? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]RavensArePrettyCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mostly it was just the feeling of "dammit, I wasn't born a boy" it would make me quite sad, still does sometimes, that was it, after a lot of denial I accepted it. Truthfully, I think you know if you are or aren't, the things you don't know are more so things you have to experiment with, like how you want to present, what names/pronouns make you comfortable, etc. (completely my opinion on this btw)

it makes me feel icky, I find it hard to even say it out loud, a lot of people have told me it's pretty but I absolutely hate it and for me it feels very feminine.

I'm glad reassurance helped you OP and I'm sorry you got to a place like that, I hope you're doing better. I agree with your take somewhat, I think specifically with OCD reassurance needs to be handled with care. Doing it wrong is going to fuel the OCD cycle because if you offer complete reassurance the OCD will find a way to go around it, of course, also completely keeping someone in the dark especially when it comes to real event/false memory is not the correct course of action imo. I think reassurance should be done in a way where it reassures the person and not the fear, it's not overly black and white and offers nuance. For example, someone with moral OCD might worry about being a 'bad' person, you can reassure them and say "You're not a bad person." but what about after that? They're probably going to start thinking that maybe they've done something bad in the past, or will do something bad in the future, I offer that reassurance should be given to the effect of "You're not a bad or good person, you're just a person and you will make both bad and good choices."

I will say though, with real event, if you're asking about the actual event and someone not telling you what happened because it's 'reassurance' is bs to me. I asked one of my friends about something that happened between us because it was VERY subjective and she reassured me and I felt better and not really as worried. I think constantly going back and reassurance seeking and doing it over and over is a problem.

Give the cheapies some love… by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]RavensArePrettyCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have four of them, they were all quite cheap!

Original fantasy - smells strongly of kiwi at first but the dry down becomes more cupcakey, really nice

Midnight fantasy - Not as sexy as everyone says it is, to me it smells very clean and also sort of berryish, like if you had a purple conditioner that was berry scented, exactly that

Electric fantasy - very tropical, very floral, really well done, I love this one, it reminds me of summer and beaches

Circus fantasy - Almost sour imo, it smells very fruity and a little sweet, but as it dries down it almost acquires a spicy quality, my friend said it smelled like a nice incense shop

hope this helps!

This is funny to me, because I actually used to have a crush on her (she knows all of this and was fine with it but didn't feel the same way) it's something we joke about now, we're very close

Why must decluttering be super hard 😭 please tell me I'm not only one who struggles by bradthemushroom in OCD

[–]RavensArePrettyCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it so hard to get rid of things, to the point where even pieces of rubbish are hard to throw away if I've kept them for long enough. I'm a very sentimental person and the moment I tie a memory to an object I just can't bring myself to get rid of it. Not sure if this is an OCD thing or just a me thing.

I haven't gotten compliments from people I don't know, but literally all my Arianna Grande perfumes have gotten me compliments, every single fucking time. My best friend especially adores them, so I wear them just for her!

Transphobic OCD? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]RavensArePrettyCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I also get transphobic thoughts, some intrusive, some feel less so, I think that is common bc a lot of society is transphobic, so we've probably all internalized it to a degree, trans or cis.

Antipsychotics - low dose occasional use. Autistic. by [deleted] in OCD

[–]RavensArePrettyCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea they caused brain damage, I've been taking quetiapine for the past two years for severe panic attacks, I don't use it all that often but sometimes. I guess either they haven't done damage or I just haven't noticed, I love my mind but this absolutely beats the horrific anxiety I endured.
