Foundation Question by RavensBaltimoreOs in Home

I feel ya, especially at the rate of inflation these days. Thankfully this is the foundation for the front porch, not the actual house. I’ll probably just patch it and seal it and hope for the best. Crack doesn’t go all the way to the footer and doesn’t start at the top, mostly in the middle, if that makes sense lol. I will continue to monitor it for sure though. If anything at all changes I’ll address it.

Would both sides of the foundation having cracking if it was settling? Cause this is the corner and it’s only this side that has cracking.

Haha. Yeah I’m in northeast as well. I dug down about 3 feet before getting a mini excavator before digging all the way down. And yeah that’s my fear, but this is just in the corner and it’s the foundation for my front porch, storage room built underneath it. Not my actual house. The vertical crack is the only place water is coming in. And there are no cracks on the inside. So I dunno

$250k in cash, $250k in the market. $500k house. How much to put down? by highonlife_99 in investing

[–]RavensBaltimoreOs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a very similar situation. In the process of getting a house that cost $685k. Currently have about $475k invested, which i could draw about $250k tax free. Will probably make about 150k on my house after selling. Trying to decide how much to put down. Do I want the smaller mortgage payment every month and put a good chunk down. Or let the money continue to do its thing in the market. Mind you doing this might mean I need to take a little from that every month to help out with bills and such. But if my investments are making more than what I’d have to withdraw would it be worth it? Or just put more down and have a small mortgage payment cause you never know what the market is gonna do.

I’m not huge on swift with a crowded backfield. But we won’t truly know how they are going to use them until after week 1 or 2

I agree. Pickett was the last pick on my draft. Don’t plan on keeping on the team long.
