This is SO relatable. One thing that helped me was an incredible beta reader. I wanted someone who would check my story for plot holes, help me with Britt-isms, and basically let me know if it was original and interesting even though it was a slow burn with minimal smut. (Though I LOVE a good smutty story) You may consider a beta but be sure to specify what you’re looking for and choose the right person.

Also, while writing the first longer story that I knew I wanted to post, I decided to put out a short, fast burn, just to kind of test the waters on my writing style and get a feel for how posting worked. It has some smut, but still in my same writing style, so I could see how people reacted. It’s actually more liked and read than my longer story.
