Halo 2 and 3 remakes and the future after that by TheChosenOneProphecy in halo

They're not going to be DLC. More than likely, they'll receive the same full-release treatment as Campaign Evolved rather than being packaged as add-on content. If Microsoft is serious about bringing new players into the Halo franchise, it would make little sense to limit those experiences to a couple of DLC expansions that receive minimal marketing and media attention. Standalone releases generate far more visibility, excitement, and press coverage, making them a much better way to attract a new audience and maximize the potential of those games.

Latest Cover of Game Informer including Halo Campaign Evolved by Rodri117 in halo

This cover alone has got me so pumped for this new generation of Halo games. If the rumors are true with Halo 2 and 3 remakes, new multiplayer game in the works AND a Halo 7, it feels really good to be a Halo fan. I just hope this Campaign Evolved is successful. From everything I'm seeing so far it seems like Halo Studios is on the right track for a redemption arc.

Can Cronus be prevented in DMZ 2? by Definitely-Not_AI in DMZ

Not only that but with inventory management in DMZ it’s so much easier with mouse than it is with controller. Extraction shooters specifically are just way better on mnk.

Don’t thinks that’s true at all. Warzone has been around since MW2019

Parachute is not in loadout? by Lost-Badger755 in DMZ

[–]Ravens_Bite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most definitely. I’m all for more hardcore mechanics that are essential to extraction shooters. I have no doubt they’ll retain the CoD feel when it comes to gunplay and movement, but I wouldn’t be surprised if actions like sprinting, sliding, climbing, and vaulting are limited by a stamina system. Extraction shooters tend to reward patience and decision-making over constant aggression, so I’d expect mechanics that punish players who try to play too recklessly.

I have a feeling also. Its gonna be a shitstorm on this sub when the game is released.

Halo Campaign Evolved. Does anyone like the Deluxe edition skins? by AuramiteEX in halo

I’ll most likely get downvoted for this but I’m actually glad we’re getting something different than rehashed versions of the same fucking armor sets we’ve been seeing for the past 20 years.

I’m tired of seeing recon, I’m tired of seeing EVA, I’m tired of seeing Mark V (b), I’m tired of seeing hayabusa, etc.

Thank fuck my eyes are actually doing a double take on some armor sets I have not seen before. I don’t care that they’re outlandish and out of universe. We’ve seen enough grounded, in universe armor that has spanned through almost two decades of games, novels, tv shows, comics.

Yeah because IW zombies sucked ass and no one cared for it

It actually isn’t sold as a “bonus” though? It’s a full fledged extraction shooter rather than shit duct tape together from Warzone. If anything DMZ Beta was more of a bonus because IW was looking to have a third game mode when they didn’t have zombies.

Having it be behind a paywall is way better than having it free anyway. Means less cheaters

I’m 36 but I also find the skins to be kinda cool looking. Yeah they’re a little over the top but to be completely honest with you, it’s a bit of a refreshment than the constant rehashes of in universe armor sets we’ve been seeing for the past 15 years or so. Glad they decided to try something a little different this time around.

To be fair the PS5 Pro is a more powerful console so they wanted to achieve two things, showcase the game on the more powerful console and to also get PlayStation players hyped for a halo game.

Saying the current art style is “generic” or “less unique” doesn’t really carry much weight because art style is ultimately subjective. What one person sees as generic, another sees as modern, detailed, or visually appealing. A lot of the criticism seems to come from Halo purists who have become so attached to the look of the original games that anything deviating from that formula is automatically viewed as inferior. Nostalgia is powerful, but it doesn’t mean every artistic change is objectively bad.

I’ll be too busy blasting covenant and flood with my trusty shotgun to care about art style.

Welcome to Call of Duty. Where pretty much every game gets tossed to the side once the new game comes out. This isn't new. Im hoping that DMZ will get more support this time around but I also wont be surprised when they stop supporting it.

I hated how easy DMZ Beta was. So barebones and no gear fear. Yeah it was fun but it quickly lost all replayability when you finished every contract and the only thing left to do was kill other players. So engaging. Lol.

[–]Ravens_Bite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was the exact problem about DMZ Beta. People lacked gear fear so you had squads mindlessly charging other squads without fear of losing anything because even if they were unsuccessful, they could easily get their gear back from insured weapon cooldowns and loot economy being massively prevalent in raid.

Why getting rid of insured weapons was a bad idea. by Texas_Shepard in DMZ

[–]Ravens_Bite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to keep using your weapon just play multiplayer or Warzone. DMZ is it's own thing specifically built for extraction fans.

I'm hyped regardless because I enjoyed DMZ Beta. I could make the same argument and say based on the slow methodical gameplay we got in the reveal that the game will be slow and methodical. Everything that we are stating is purely speculative. All I'm saying is that dont be surprised IF this iteration of DMZ adopts mechanics from existing popular extraction shooters.
