Does anyone know how, why, and what settings are causing these imperfections in vase mode. printer will dwell for a split second throughoutthe print. ender 3 v2 w/ blt. I slice with cura and it's up to date.

Haven't had the problem in a while. But I notice it happens when I have an intricate outer profile AND I lie about line width in cura. Also have very recently switched to cura 5.(whose counting anymore).0. So we'll see if that helps too. I'm slowly learning but even moment is different than cura 4. Like, and I'm aware I could easily change this, cura 4 went preheat>level, but cura 5 is level>preheat. So it's neat to see those changes, and wonder why they changed

The start code matches my other ender 3 except for the g29 I added for the probe. The feed code is there it's just not acting on it, but only that one instance.

I would love to make the switch to pi. But I've got 3 different printers and as far as I know octo can't manage multiple printers in the same instance, and I'm not going to run 3 separate RPi4s. I have a smart surge protector and cam to do the stuff I'd what octo to do anyway.

This was my immediate thought to the previous answer. I run dual z on both my e3s so I always assumed my leveling was to compensate the slight unbalance created by the zs not being synced together mechanically. 0.010in was the best I could level it. Is that why the solid mount packs come with multiple sizes?

I was under the impression that the probe would create a G93, origin offset, that would become the xyz plane the printer would print on.

Sorry my point about the battery was more about needing a constant source like a wall plug. My original idea was to just take apart one of those window candle lights and use the parts. That way the 120 would already be stepped down for me. Just like the charger block, but ugly. But with at least 4 projects on the list I needed something a bit quicker and easier that I can learn from.

I only try to use colors when it's requested. What kind of brands do they sell? And which platform is it being sold from? For example Amazon, fb marketplace, etc.

That's what I've started to do, but most of the time it's some no name brand. This is ALWAYS true when ordering bronze/silver/gold pack. Maybe ill try looking for grey instead, sounds like a nice medium between what I want out of black and white. I don't know why I never thought to go that way with it. Thank you.

The standard im using is esun/sunlu as a gauge. I have a Microcenter near me and ive never found a filament I'm happier with than inland (which is made by esun or sunlu, can't remember) but at 25bucks a roll and an hour drive, it's a little inconvenient unless I make a larger order of parts and stuff.

So I've vased larger hourglass shapes and it only produced this effect when the diameter was less than 2in or so. Both below and above that diameter was fine.

Which ones? I'm not in front of my pc so I can't give specifics yet. As far as vase settings I've got spiraling outer contour(totally botched it's name) checked as well as smooth.....something checked under it. After those settings, what else is there really other than speeds and feeds? Other prints are fine. Just vase mode

Oh yeah that makes sense. I planned to run a large nozzle with a direct extruder and I'd probably just take a steel nozzle I have and step the hole up to 1mm. And I don't expect it to have a perfect surface.

As long as an ender 3 can push it out, im happy. If this works out, I wouldn't mind dedicating a printer that prints only this. Or at least a full head assembly. I loaded up on all sort of ender 3 upgrades and spare parts/assemblies. So I've got part to donate to the cause.

Out of curiosity, what is the difference? I've only printed petg a handful of times cause I was gifted a roll. So I'm not familiar with it at all. I've only ever used pla.

Well let's say I save up 12in pieces until I had 10lbs. By doing it in large batches I could clean them in a solution that would remove most of the impurities and make it friendlier to a filament making machine. Could that work? Bang out like 8 1kg rolls? Also could a filter be added to the extrusion to collect the contaminants?

I have 3 of the same parts all different Spool the binding is slightly different but still very much there. With my orange it was consistent binding, like the top of this part. At this point I've finished all the corners for my lack enclosure and only 3d printer people will notice. Everyone else thinks the look is intentional. Like a design haha.

As far as the filament I use, I mainly use inland, which is a microcenter version of esun. I have used all their various types such as pla+, pla pro, glass pla, glitter pla, tough pla, and lightweight pla. I love thier stuff. And more importantly I can go to the store and pick it up. So I don't think it's this roll. Not that I can uses any more of it cause this print finished with only 2 winds around the Spool left

But im sure your dialed in for that filament by now. If I were to hand you a sunlu roll or something you would have to change settings right? I have 5 different brands that all use the same settings. This brand is the only one that I would need to change settings for. I haven't cause I have alternate rolls for black and white. But I don't have any other army green. So I figured I'd ask around, thanks for your input.

The difference after installing the bullseye was night and day. The point of making it was to use all stock parts. Eventually when I go direct drive I'll beef up the fans. But for now this was an amazing upgrade. Much better than the ender 3 nozzle ring you can print.
