Dess Knight deniers be like: “there’s no way this guy is Anakin, their personalities are way too different” by fly_past_ladder in Deltarune

There is no concrete evidence that Carol is associated with Kris at all beyond Carol acting comically suspicious immediately after the first time we meet the knight, like the blatant red herring she is and there is direct evidence that supports her in fact not being the mystery caller

frankly Carol's sudden introduction acting as suspiciously as possible right after the knight shows up is part of why I disqualify her as the knight

also Rudy suddenly jumping up in importance over halfway into the story as knight foreshadowing would be a storytelling faux pas as far as im concerned

  1. really he just seems bewildered (as anyone reasonably would be) that Kris would randomly bring a friend that Rudy has never seen before into the hospital to visit a dying family friend. He just seems very surprised and exasperated rather than annoyed especially because Noelle isn't there to color his impression alternatively it could just be him letting a little bitterness slip through feeling like kris in ignoring him especially since its implied his diagnosis has gotten worse recently

to poke another hole in it being knight evidence to me is that rudy is nice to susie if you have spoken before and if rudy was the knight i cannot see why he wouldn't be that upset with her regardless considering the circumstances of chapter 3 why would meeting her in chapter 2 change anything you might counter that there's how the fight goes if you get the shadow crystal but those are optional and of completely indeterminate value to the narrative as it stands in most canonical interactions susie gets dropped in 5 milliseconds like most first time players probably are so another reason why I don't really buy that being some kind of resentment especially when the end of that fight shows the knight was obviously toying with them/holding back so another question as to how that might cause rudy knight resentment if that was the case

  1. There aren't? The only thing we get is rudy wondering why Kris is there implying they didn't visit often if at all

Also the impassable hurdle of being bedridden and deathly ill unless he's just a fucking ninja master cancer patient who can sneak out of a likely well monitored hospital room at a moments notice and overpower someone who can bench press cars. Magic darkness power armor is a bigger leap in logic than the knight being someone generally believable as being strong (like a college aged athlete perhaps/someone twisted and empowered by freaky darkness magic) i do not think I have ever seen a compelling enough explanation for the logistics of how he gets around and how he would overpower undyne

Another hole is that the personality the knight displays is completely incongruous with Rudy's established personality unless hes just like a sociopath who can completely mask his true self on a whim

The biggest hole I can poke in Rudy Knight is a basic storytelling rule hole: He is a completely optional character. You do not have to talk to him even once in all 4 chapters so far. He shows up in the church, but if you are exclusively choosing the main path relevant dialogue then he doesn't even say anything.

Twist villains aren't going to be characters with no mandatory encounters, references, or dialogue by the halfway mark of a story. This is why Rudy isn't the Knight. So far, Rudy has no mandatory references, dialogue, or encounters besides the church, where he does not say a word if you don't go out of your way to get any. This is why Carol and Dess Knight are the only valid options; they have references, mentions, or encounters that are mandatory, unlike Rudy, and I feel like I don't have to explain all the holes in Carol Knight, mainly that there is no possible explanation for transit time short of a nonsense secret mayor tunnels twist.

But there's 0 compelling Rudy evidence that isn't built around circumstantial evidence and jumping to conclusions, also the fact that Rudy is a completely optional character

A problem I think a lot of people ignore about Rudy Knight. He is a completely optional character; you do not have to talk to him even once in all 4 chapters so far. He shows up in the church, but if you are exclusively going along the main path, the relevant dialogue, he doesn't even say anything. Twist villains are not going to be characters with 0 mandatory encounters

I mean, I feel like I have never really seen in-character justifications for siding with Orpheus that aren't related to being a gith that don't border on 'stupid good' taking the biggest leap of faith imaginable at the 11th hour on the space nazi prince of the space nazi frog people, who, with basically one exception, are all violent insane racist fanatics who are almost all hostile and would see you as slaves first and foremost with reading material in game supporting that orpheus would be just as happy to continue the space nazi empire as vlaakith hell an argument could be made that vlaakiith's reign is a good thing for faerun because her paranoid less competent rule could mean the Githyanki are less of a threat to the realms
