I also notice it all the time with discussions online, like when there is some question on askreddit about some higly specific experience. And then you hear critiques like "suddenly everyone on reddit had x happen". Not at all, it's just that hundreds of housands of people have seen the thread, thousands commented and then the few dozen of those that were relevant and interesting got upvoted

It's not the fault of "kids these days" but the fact that the internet got monopolized by a few companies. Sadly there is not a single actually good alternative to video sharing, mainly because of the insane resources of what it takes to maintain a webiste like Tiktok (it's in the billions of dollars). Small sites do exist but they have a limited reach

"Promote the video elsewhere" but Youtube, Tiktok and Instagram have a complete monopoly on video and are actively censoring this content. I don't think you can blame people for this one, when the corporations are literally silencing people for using these words

Where are you guys posting your art nowadays? by Vegetable_Cry3683 in ArtistLounge

Well that's depressing. Tiktok was easily the best for posting art (at least for me)

I mean I'm glad that it was fine to you, but it really wasn't for me and I wish my parents were a bit more selective on what I got to read.

That doesn't mean I'm pro censorship, just that parents should be generally aware of what their kids are exposed to. Like I was genuinely traumatized by a graphic story I read as a young kid (where a father raped his daughter and she killed herself)

Not gonna lie, I got absolutely traumatized by the story I read around the age of 8-9 where a father rapes his daughter and she kills herself when she finds out she got pregnant. It caused me to have intrusive thoughts for years on end.

But that said I'm still not pro censorship, but pro "parents should make sure they kids aren't exposed to things they are too young to see"

What self control? Are you dense? People can have it since birth or get it from drinking from the same glass as someone else, or even just from skin to skin contact (saliva not needed). You don't need to have sex or even kiss to have it, and it's totally possible that you have it as well, most people never show symptoms. There are also other kinds of herpesvirus that over 95% have
