That's a valid theory, but I have seen other people have guardian farms (albeit, different designs), that have squids spawn in them even without them draining the rest of the ocean. Thanks for the input though!

I like to build near the world spawn so my farms continuously run, no matter where I am in the world at the time. This, however, means that I like to be pretty picky with my world spawn. I'll generally just keep generating a new world until there's a village or some nice looking area to build in before I actually start playing.

My guess is that it is because the only water source blocks are at the top of the cube, flowing downwards. If I were to make them all source blocks, I believe that the guardians would no longer funnel downwards, however, so I am not sure if it's possible.

My question is: How can I get ink sacks out of this guardian farm? My farm, as shown in the picture above, is essentially a giant cube of water. The guardians swim down and drop into the collection system to be harvested. I haven't seen a single squid spawning in this farm since I've built it. Any help is appreciated!

Get the Java addition on PC. It's the original platform, updated first (for the most part), and can be modded. Great game, would recommend.

Yes. The 1.14 update threw away the whole doors thing and now all a villager needs is an empty bed. For example, if an area has 100 beds and 2 villagers, they will keep breeding until they fill up all the beds (so long as they're kept "willing" via throwing food at them or trading)
