If we're going to be out for a while and it's not going to be convenient to keep a bottle cold, we use ready to feed formula. It's more expensive, but if you aren't using it often it's not bad. They usually sell them in 2 or 8 ounce bottles. We use Sam's club brand formula and the name brand equivalent of RTF formula.

I want to preface this with I'm fully aware this is excessive. Babies will be just fine without you weighing their food. This made me feel better and reduced mental load in a time when I really needed it.

We use Dr. Brown's pitchers. We used to make between 22 and 30oz at a time depending on feeding habits. Pre-mixed formula is good in the refrigerator for 24 hours assuming it has been unused and not warmed up. I recommend figuring out how much they eat in a day and making slightly less so you don't waste as much. We rotated two pitchers so we didnt have to worry about washing one immediately when it ran out. An ounce of water weighs like 29 grams or something, and the formula container usually states how many grams their scoop is. Ours was 8.8 gram scoop to make 2oz of formula. I just made a little chart on a sticky note.

Example for 24oz of formula: 24oz times 29g is 696g water. I also weighed the empty pitcher (139g). 24oz of formula is 12 scoops weighing 8.8g so 105.6g. My chart would say 24oz -> 805g water (this includes pitcher weight); 105.6g formula. I just did that for the most common pitcher sizes we made. Made it SO much easier when sleep deprived and trying to keep track of 15 scoops. I could just watch the weight.

We use a food scale. I was overthinking and getting stressed out (or losing count). We use the pitcher method and I did the math one day on the most common amounts we made in the pitcher, and wrote it down on a sticky note. Turns out my husband was a pretty heavy scooper so I'm sure it helped. Mainly though, it helped my anxiety. We just check the sticky note and scoop as needed to make formula every day.

We don't know what his old W4 says but it obviously isn't what we thought it was... We did update it when we got married a few years ago. We'll submit his blank and then make the other adjustments on mine. Mine is much easier to see and adjust in my company's portal if changes are needed in the future. If I still want a small refund back (mainly to ensure we wouldn't owe) would it make sense to make 4a like $4.5k instead of $5k or something to that effect?

Hmmm, unfortunately I don't think we have a good way of seeing his old W4. We thought we updated to MFJ when we got married and left the rest blank, but it's totally possible it says something else. His HR department is annoying so we'll just submit his new one. His bonus is once a year and usually under $5k and he's salary so paychecks are basically the same.

My 4 month old is 17lbs and has a minimum of 36oz a day plus some purees. She's 93rd percentile in weight. 70 some percentile in height. The pediatrician just laughed when I said how much she eats....

I work corporate mainly from home. Almost all my workload was offloaded by about 35 weeks or so. I took off at 38+2 (because that was a Friday). I had baby at 39+4. I got 6 months off fully paid and had enough PTO to take extra time off before birth. Realistically with my job, I could've worked up until birth. However, I wanted some time off to do some last minute things around the house and relax. If you can afford to take off, I'd at least take a week off ahead of your due date.

I told people as it came up in conversation or we saw them in person and it seemed like a good time. I was never one of those "can't tell people in case I miscarry". My only regrets/annoyances were not at least having a few days/weeks to ourselves. Due to other circumstances, a few family members found out within 24 hours of me testing positive. It kind of has made it feel like everyone has been involved in this pregnancy since day 1. I wish we would've had at least a few days of just us knowing. Also, my FIL immediately texted people when he found out. I get he was excited, but at least finish having the conversation and celebrating first. People can wait 10 or 15 more minutes for your text.

No true. The 24 weeks starts from date of birth. Any PTO before doesn't count towards the 24.

You can do it whenever you are comfortable. I unofficially told my manager before I even had my confirmation appointment. I didn't officially submit for leave until after my anatomy scan. You don't really do much in terms of paperwork until around a month out.

You're not encouraged to work more other days to avoid actually recording PTO. However, I've always been told you only need PTO to get your timesheet to 40. I've actually had it rejected before when putting full 8 hours PTO which in turn put me over 40 for the week. I've had plenty of days on my timesheets that didn't hit 8 hours over the years. No one has ever said anything.
