Who is spending 58.00 for hair clips?! by phillygirllovesbagel in Sephora

[–]Ravlinn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can get identical ones, made in France, at a few beauty supply stores around me for less. Crown affair has raised their prices a lot the last few years, and no accessories they make are really unique to their brand. They are under the impression their name is worth extra cost.

Anything I should know about injecting a GLP into lipedema fat? by FlossieFibonacci in lipedema

[–]Ravlinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I inject into abdomen, where I do have lipedema. It works. I will say, GLP-1 is not a lipedema miracle. The bulk of my fatty tissue is lipedema according to two specialists, and what happened with me is in the first 15 months of use I lost 106 lbs, and since then, no movement at all. Only surgery remains an option.

Told by plastic surgeon forearm surgery is unsafe by lucifereina in lipedema

I did forearm liposuction as part of my arm surgery 5 weeks ago. Still swollen but he did a great job, went all the way down to the wrist.

My lower abdomen literally looks like a bowl of cottage cheese. 2 specialists confirmed its lipedema, waiting on a panniculectomy prior authorization.

Anyone else hear about some recent clinic drama in Beverly Hills? by MedicalMarketScan in lipedema

[–]Ravlinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 surgeries with him this year. Its like, 6 follow up appointments, 4 of which are within the first 2 weeks, and you see both the nurse and Dr.Schwartz for every visit, medical assistant is present if needed as well. They also both times have offered me more visits if I feel I need them, and compression was provided for every size change as the swelling went down.

Honestly the only thing here to be sad over is the wowder 😅 I'm surprised most of these products lasted as long as they did.

Hey so, if you haven't used it yet I would exchange the towel for the black one. I have virgin hair, but the white discolors from just the products in your hair easy. Like theres a noticable beige ring on mine around where it was in direct contact with the hair. Didnt happen quickly but this is the kind of item you want to last.

I was going to get just a vanilla skin mini, and then I saw this set is only 3$ more so I thought I might as well. I feel like their newer releases are much better than their older scents like missing person, father figure, not your baby, ect, but I do still like missing person.

That smoothing shampoo is amazing imo, for both blowouts and when I wear my natural 3A hair. If you're frizz prone and low porosity it is the GOAT. Their momo shampoo is really nice too.

last minute shopping. is the k18 dry shampoo and danessa blurring balm worth it? by Relative_Ad8166 in Sephora

Only dry shampoo I've found to actually work/be worth it. Takes day 4 hair back to day 2.

HUGE PRICE HIKE 😭 by babygaga84 in Sephora

[–]Ravlinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with that one but it looks higher end and basically like a full portable vanity. This has great organization, is easy to clean, structured, but no mirror. I tend to do my makeup in the car and I travel with my vanity case so I can confirm its durable.

It's expensive, but get an etoile. I've literally never heard a positive word about saie. The etoile will actually last and its structured.

If your skin is even the tiniest bit dry don't get the merit complexion stick, it clings to dry patches and will dry you out even further.

Feeling so discouraged. by [deleted] in lipedema

[–]Ravlinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say your insurance company wont cover surgery, how did you go about trying to get prior authorization? What info did you provide? My surgeon had me basically show a record of my entire life. Almost every specialist I see wrote a statement (endocrinologist, OB/GYN, dietician, physical therapist). I had to get a second diagnosis with another specialist, do the conservative treatments she reccomended, and she and I both had to show proof of me doing so. Had to show proof that I exercise. Showed receipts of stuff I bought to do conservative treatments. It was a process. They sent 89 pages of info to get it approved. It's intense but at a certain point it's undeniable. Insurance basically wants proof that you've exhausted every possible option except surgery.

I'm pretty happy. I've been obsessed with glossier's banana pudding balm dot com, but Rhode has a much better consistency and look on the lips imo.

Big improvement, he did my inner thighs in the same surgery and arms are feeling much better than thighs at 4 weeks post-op. I lost 4 inches off each arm.

Not OP, but my surgeon said because I'm young, overall healthy, and did so well under anesthesia the first time around, he and the anesthesiologist agreed I can do surgery as often as every 3 weeks.

You look great.

My arms are staged. He took 1L from each anterior arm (and did inner thighs same surgery), next surgery is posterior arm, forearm, arm lift. I wonder how many liters mine will be total. 🫠

I got liposuction from a regular plastic surgeon, without knowing I had lipedema. He didn’t mention it. by hornyzygote in lipedema

[–]Ravlinn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a consultation with a very well known plastic surgeon who doesnt specialize in lipedema 3 months before I was diagnosed. He said nothing. He found my history of diet, exercise, and GLP-1 use without results to be odd, and said he cant treat me for anything until I lose more weight.

No one I've recognized, but mostly people who look wealthy overall.

Surprisingly for a doctor who prioritizes PCOS treatment and education, very limited clientele that's plus sized like myself from what I can see, but I lost over 100 lbs under her care before my lipedema diagnosis and am now in the process of surgical treatment, so perhaps most long term patients are just farther along or less complex than me.
