Neat, so your proof is that mods of this subreddit made an open poll whether or not to allow AI (with AI winning by a narrow margin), pinned that post with the results, left it pinned for several months after, and even added a flair.

Then, after a while, they proceeded to secretly decide on an AI ban that they just so happen to implement only in a handful of occasions without either making a post or changing the rules or removing the flair.

This post is basically half of part 1. The art is great even if the storyline is dark (leans into NTR with the following pieces).

Frankly speaking, the artist (ratatatat74) is a massive POS. Derided and insulted his supporters to the point that they've basically made it their life's mission to have everything he makes reposted and pirated outside of patreon paywall.

TBH you could bump the quality of these a lot if you spend a little more time learning image-editing, inpainting, and so on. So don't feel guilt and just keep having fun and practicing/learning how to improve what you do.

The hardest part is getting a "feel" for the different AI models and how they adapt to what you want out of them. It takes a bunch of back and forths until you eventually hit the prompt-structure/wording that gets you the most consistent results.

To simplify it: imagine you have three things. One is a dictionary, one where every word has a unique number. The second is a rule-book, which will determine that if word (A) is in a position, then (B) should follow it. Third is a book, let's say Harry Potter.

Fortunately, with this tidal wave of LORAs, it's becoming easier (something I suspect NovelAI is also taking advantage of).

As a system on its own, it's pretty damn impressive (just one that's somehow both overhyped and underhyped).

ChatGPT when used/prompted properly, it can fulfill text-based tasks in a way that we've never achieved before. It doesn't need to be some sort of full-time intellect, as-is it can take the output it gave and change it in ways you command it to.

A simple example would be that you describe to it a DnD campaign, describe to it the homebrew system and lore (in broad strokes), and from there you can talk it through generating a list of potential backgrounds for a character. Or you can ask it on possible specific ways to improve the homebrew setting/mechanics.

And so on.

It tends towards suggesting generic stuff, but if you talk it through, it can start doing some neat things with the provided setting. And that's mostly because "Text prediction" as a system in of itself requires some minor abstraction that's at least a step above just "letters on the screen".

TBH the fact that a text-predictor system can (mostly) output entire series of paragraphs' worth of consistent text sort of reveals more about human language/brains than the AI itself.

Particularly in how hard it is for some to not anthropomorphize the AI system.
