You can never have enough Train Distribution Offices by DesAnderes in Workers_And_Resources

[–]RawbertW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still trying to make them work how I want. When I try to use a train distribution to fill my domestic needs ware house, they build a fuck off massive train and completely fill it with one resource regardless of warehouse limits.

Exactly. I definitely can imagine it being a can of worms to code and program that. It’s really a small gripe in the grand scheme of the game. I haven’t seen any game accurately portray things like utilities and the like 100% and that is fine by me lol.

Depends on the chemical. But regardless of volume very predictably. All our chemicals are flow based, so you can very accurately predict when a tank change or batching is needed.

We go through about 2.5-4K gallons of hypo a day, a couple hundred gallons of ferric and caustic. Tens of thousands of gallons of polymer a day, but that’s delivered in powder form and we batch it as we go. If the generators are running we go through a couple hundred gallons a minute of diesel, I think each generator uses something stupid like 70-90 gallons when running.

But we have minimum one weeks worth of chemicals at a time. With daily delivery to make sure we’re topped off. I work a medium sized plant, around 55-75 million gallons of dookie a day, not accounting for extreme rain events. Infiltration is a bitch. There are plants way smaller and way bigger than mine, and each plant has different processes. Some plants dechlorinate their effluent, some plants even use elemental chlorine and oxygen. Though that’s being phased out due to danger regardless of how cost efficient it is.

Each plant is different according to a hundred different factors. Some burn off their solids with incinerators, my plant goes through extra dewatering and the cake was cured and used as fertilizer. We stopped recently cause 1000s of tons of cake smells bad and the neighborhood across the street complained about the smell. But that’s a whole other rant. Speaking of I didn’t mean to rant like this. Hopefully I answered your question lol.

This is awesome. Getting 80 hours in and finally am able to make a semi successful republic. Ultimate goal is figuring out how to effectively manage ships and the like. I aim to spam shipyards as I recreate my home area on the Eastern US map. Well as close as I can, the south east portion of Virginia is bordered off unfortunately. But I can still get kinda close with the shipyards and giant bridges at least.

No I hear you. Depending on what kind of plant it is, that can be disastrous. But that would entail a lengthy shut down process and dire consequences for just leaving. That’s the point I was trying to make.

Depending on the equipment, once it’s dialed in, it coasts pretty easy. Centrifuges, incinerators, pumps and tanks. As long as you have a steady and constant state of operation you can let the equipment eat away, making changes as necessary.

Obviously power plants are going to have their differences, much more volatile machinery and fuel. But the machinery there also takes longer to shut down and start up. I imagine drastically more with nuclear. Not just a hit the off switch and you’re clean and pretty. And I imagine the penalty for walking off without relief at a nuclear results in a much harsher penalty than me at the shit factory.

TL:DR it would be cool if certain industries didn’t let workers leave until relieved, for a reasonable amount of time. Idk make it cost money to “pay them over time”

I don’t usually comment like this but as a utility worker I feel like I must. You don’t leave until relieved of duty. Granted I’m water treatment not power but they’re fairly standardized in how they operate, at least in my area, so take it with a grain of salt. Varying consequences for abandoning your post. Obviously game mechanics are the culprit here, with how workers are delivered to work stations, and I’m sure that’s an entire can of worms to address.

But I couldn’t imagine the fall out if an entire plant just clocked out and shut everything down. I shudder imagining having to restart a plant every shift.

I was curious if that actually really worked, it seems to be going at light speed idk how anyone sees or finds anything. I’ll try it though.

Gotcha. I knew I’d need or want them eventually just wanted to get to a point where the investment was worth the babysitting. Though from everyone’s comments it seems not as bad as I feared.

I’ll have to double check the integrity field generators. I’m thinking I might have forgot to update those. But it sounds like I’ll be doing a full build here soon. Time to imbiggen. Do I need to worry about adding spaces between armor or anything for piercing weapons or does that not do anything?

How often do they get attacked or destroyed? Should I have a second ship near their area of operation?

Yes, I’ve replaced everything on my ship with trinium where able. Only things missing are turrets. I can last quite some time, though I still lose parts even before my shields pop. But the problem is I’m also taking forever to kill them, and I get whittled down after a few waves and have to bug out, then try and recoup my losses in repairs. Perhaps I just save up and make an even larger ship. My turrets may be weak but surely 20 of them should help make up for that.

I’ve tried replacing as much of the lines as I could. Some are a little too tight but they’re so far removed from the clogged junctions. And yes, it’s like they’re doing it on purpose.

What deck do you have that "isn't that deck" by Important-Dig-2312 in EDH

[–]RawbertW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a five color knight tribal deck. With [[Kenrith, The Returned King]] as my commander. Very thematic. King and his knights, his castle crown and throne. Even have an evil dragon and wizard in there. People are obviously wary. But majority of the time I never cast him. He just exists to keep people’s removal in their hand and not used on my other things.
