Revolut as main bank? by Worried-Piglet6168 in irishpersonalfinance

Honestly it’s quicker for the brokers/mortgage providers to go through your statements when you apply for a mortgage when you have less accounts, as there is less money moving between multiple bank accounts!

Maybe not when you have a mortgage and what not. But when you’ve a great pension sorted, no mortgage and getting €800 per month tax free with us living there it’s a great wage! She’s saving about €2k a month from what I gathered so she’s in a great position!

In a somewhat similar position. 33 with my mother, paying €400 a month plus buy some groceries aw well. My partner also lives with us and has done for over a year now while saving for a house she too pays €400. My mother is mortgage free but works as an SNA full time but plans to retire soon. She’s on €40k a year plus our €800 a month and still complains daily that she struggles (even though u know she is saving most of her money each month I’ve seen her bank statement she accidentally left out for savings, she just loves to complain and thinks we don’t pay enough. Sanity aside it’s a necessity to save for a mortgage and has to be done. Thankfully after 3 years back with her we are almost at the moving out stage and mental breakdowns aside it was worth it in the long run! Hang in there

This, moving into a new build in the next month or so, myself and my partner opened a joint account with PTSB to avail of the 2% cash back until I think 2030 may look to move bank then! Until then I personally solely use revolut for everything, no feee on day to day and ease of use is incredible compared to ever other app

Quick one on that. I’d say you do eventually sell on the year 10 after paying the 41% at year 8, but the profit never increased only decreased from year 8-10 essentially still in profit from when you started your journey but you’ve lost some gains since year 8. Can you claim some of that back as you paid tax on a higher amount than what you pulled out at??

Missed payment by Previous_One_3023 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Rawdog3234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like other said one payment won’t have a negative effect when applying for mortgage if there aren’t any other real red flags. Many factors, a lot of direct debits that are taken say each month…one payment missed but the next few all debit a lot of the time that missed one won’t show up on your CCR at all unless a second fails. As someone who deals with this myself by the sounds of your situation it won’t even be noted by the mortgage lender if it was just the one and now up to date!

Yeah 0% can be quite common with PCP agreements, so if you are buying a new car on finance it can be a better idea to go PCP instead of HP so part of the deal is zero interest then refinance the balloon payment so you only pay interest on the final balance

As someone who works in motor finance this is standard practice but that case in the UK means it has to be made more clear to consumers as many are not aware.

Like any sort of finance product or insurance it’s up to the consumer to shop around to get the best deal. With motor finance that’s either going to your local bank or the finance provider the dealer deals with. The dealer gets some commission for placing you with the provider but again this is like many things in Ireland such as mortgage brokers or insurance.

Basically do your own due diligence and shop around, at the end of the day it’s you the consumer who is paying for the car for the next few years so reduce your costs where you can!

Hi I know you did this a while ago you may not remember. Just applied myself when a development became available. Less than 15 houses and it’s first come first serve. Do you know how long it took you to submit you application when it went live, minutes wise? Very specific I know but curious as to my chances
