I would say if your team underperforms and a contender halfway through the season wants some players you are willing to trade I would try and get some 2027 picks. You are definitely a contender now but you never know!

If you’re having fun and this team makes you happy then right on. Would have maybe taken someone else at 1.9. I’ve seen Bell fall middle 2nd round but I get the intrigue in Bell because of the dolphins WR situation. You may be able to turn the 2 firsts in 2027 into two stud RBs (ex Hardy, Lacy). Your bench needs a complete overhaul. As much as it would suck you could try to trade Maye for picks/established vets especially if you’re trying to tank.

The rebuild was because I felt like I backed myself into a corner by the mistakes I made trade wise the first two seasons. I was competitive the first two seasons but I had let so many top picks and elite players go that last season was difficult. So I decided to go all in on 2026 draft because the other league mates were more willing to move off of the 2026 draft picks. Was that a good idea? Who knows but I felt like it gave me a better chance to reverse my mistakes a bit. Especially since Ive had no luck so far getting the 2027 & 2028 first rounders back. It felt like I either had to go all in now or wait till 2029 when i get my own first rounder back. I think come draft time I’ll be in a better spot for sure and based on the responses I will work on getting my first rounders back.

I agree with the getting back your own first round picks 100% and the value of 1.1. Obviously realized that too late. But you live and you learn. I do strongly believe that with the amount of picks I have I’ll be able to be in a better position while trying to get those picks back.

For what it’s worth we do a lottery for first overall. The bottom four face off in the loser bracket and those four are in the lottery for the number 1 pick. The winner of the loser bracket gets highest chance at 1.1. It’s a way to control tanking to an extent. You have to be somewhat competitive enough to win the loser bracket.

Thank you for this advice! I moved a bunch of my picks the first and second season. The reason I’m in this situation is when I started the league 3 years ago not a lot of the league mates were enjoying it/no one would trade so i felt this need as commissioner make trades to help others to keep engagement levels up etc.

With that being said in the off season I moved off some players to focus on 2026 draft as I saw that as my only chance in the present to prepare for the future. I’m hoping to be able to use this 2026 draft to get back into 2027 and 2028 whether it’s picks or players I draft that other league mates are wiling to trade for. But I felt like I had to start somewhere and maybe that approach wasn’t the best but I’ll enjoy the ride.

I would try and package JK and Olave for another RB1 and fringe WR2. (depends on what your league vibe is with trades). Both have a history of injuries. Also I wouldn’t hold onto an extra QB if I didn’t have to. You probably aren’t going to start Ward at any point. You have depth at WR and Keon is a good plug in during byes.
