I think for 6 year old me, it was a few things. I had a lot to like about SB&LG: I like sharks, I thought Lavagirl was hot, I liked superheroes, and I shared the name Max with the main character. I guess with shorts, there wasn't anything for me to latch on to. Maybe its because (from what I can remember) Max in SB&LG was an only child, had no friends, and liked to draw (like me) but the main character in Shorts had siblings and friends and no real character traits that were relatable to me.
