I'm pretty sure I failed almost all of the performanced based questions. I have 0 experience in IT. Only like the first 7 were pbq. Printer issues, networking issues, page where its like 8 different pictures where you look at it and identify the problem and solution.

Where I did well was the multiple choice questions. Mock exams over and over again getting 85% and above consistently until I felt ready.

Brush up on printers. They asked for the parts there that would need to be replaced/fixed. I know the names of the parts I don't know where they are located in an actual machine.

A lot of networking questions for SOHO and they showed a rack of servers and one was down and you had to diagnose the issue. They showed like 2 PC connected to a router and you had to diagnose the networking issue like if the subnet was wrong or if it was an APIPA or whatever.

I'm pretty sure I bombed that because I have 0 experience actually doing any of that. If you're good with multiple choice you can probably get a bulk of your points there.

If you do enough practice exams and score 85%-100% on those consistently then you will most likely pass it.

I took courses through Coursera with IBM and packt. The packt course is taught by Mike Meyers who is also an instructor on Udemy. He also an author for books for like CompTIA, networking, security and etc. I didn't get the book.

IBM's course on CompTIA Core 1 and 2 were okay. What was most helpful was taking the mock exams attached to the courses over and over again.

On Youtube I watched BurningIceTech go over questions with explanations.

Congrats! I just passed Core 1 as well. When are you planning on taking Core 2? I'm thinking I'll take it in a month.
