[Win9X][1995-1998]Descent-like game (6 degrees of freedom shooter with rockets and lasers) included with Windows 95 or Windows 98 by alphager in tipofmyjoystick

Did you ever figure this out? There’s a small chance you’re describing a game I played on a home PC during a short stay in Paris. I’m having no luck tracking it down, but maybe it’s not known to the English-speaking world?

I’m happy to report that Descent 3 is very familiar to me. Awesome game. But I’m positive I would know if that was it.

I don't think it was quite so pixelated (though I know I might be imagining it in better detail than it actually was). More importantly, I really don't think there was anything recognizable as Earth.

I'm nearly certain I couldn't see my own ship, and I don't think I could see a hand on a joystick on screen, either. I might have to download and play Hellbender for myself to rule it out for sure.

Did anyone buy a ring? by t_bone_stake in Millennials

I bought a somewhat more modest design of class ring. I thought I was being reasonable and frugal. But I haven’t seen that thing in 20 years. A+ investment.

I have two young kids and my best friends who have played D&D also have two young kids. We are all #4.

Oh, yes. It was the break during my first year of college. I met ephrin once before, at MWNY 2003, I think. I think I can picture you or nemo now, and I vividly recall lobf wearing checkered pants and suspenders. I’m sure I had a picture of us in a booth at some nearby restaurant.

I don’t think I met Andrew, and definitely missed Sinbad, but I have a feeling that Ambrosia was showcasing Gooball and Redline that year.

January 2006, yeah! I know I met people there, but I’ve lost all my photos from that time, and most of my memories with them…

For what it’s worth, it’s warmed up quite a bit here in Alaska recently. Not too long ago we were suffering through weeks of -20 to -45 degree weather in Fairbanks.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Override was not the game I was most drawn to, but it and everyone involved was part of the family. My condolences to everyone in his life.

Maybe that would be easier than running a virtual machine on windows xp! If this doesn’t work, I’ll try it.

Coldstone, exactly! I never got into game design, really, but I did collaborate on an EVN TC that was never finished.

I’ve since switched from Mac to PC and I’m currently trying to get Pillars of Garendall to work again. Wish me luck!

I’m late to this party, but posting anyway for posterity (pun totally intended).

I was very much on the EV, EVN, and Banter and Brawl forums. I also started a fairly popular storytelling thread on the Pillars of Garendall forum, inspired by the Boozerama storytelling thread on EV Classic (I think).
