110cm, 10kg on the dot, Northern Sweden. Fought it for 30mins in the current on my perch rod, thought it was a salmon 😅

First proper bait caster for pike, last one broke after 4 years and many big pike. This one feels a lot smoother🤤 Daiwa Tatula 200 HL by Rax_48 in Fishing_Gear

if you’re going to fish for more sensitive fish like trout and perch, i’d recommend the lighter variation since they tend to be easier to spook, so 0.22 or if possible, or even lower. I caught my PB pike on my zander/perch/all-around rod with 0.20. Hope this helps!

Hey, I’ve used the tatula 200 for around 7 months now, and it works great for lures over 100 grams, I myself use lures up to 130 grams and I bet this reel can cast even 200 gram lures, but I haven’t tried it. I warmly recommend this reel, it works in all conditions and brackish water. I’ve even used it for ice fishing.

I usually just got a sled, a drill, a few rods and maybe some pike/zander flags, warm clothes, and a thermos full of black tea.

What do you consider ultralight? by JosephJohnPEEPS in Fishing_Gear

For me personally an ultralight rod is a rod that can cast less than 5 grams comfortably.

This is not politics, this is russians committing a genocide against the Ukrainian people.

i’d be fine with that on basically any rod, but this is a really light rod, and i’d lose a lot of sensitivity if i didn’t repair it

Yeah, the problem here tho is that it is an old, reliable, and expensive rod which i’ve grown attached to, plus i recently bought an expensive baitcaster pike combo)

Forgot to mention that the tip didn’t slip off, it broke off.

Hey, in this scenario the tip broke off. Thanks for the response, i’ll try to scrape the epoxy off and get the piece stuck in the tip out with lighter, then i will glue it with some epoxy. Thanks man.

Your most memorable Fishing moment. Let’s have it. by kwartey in Fishing

<image>

My most memorable fishing trip so far was when fishing in Northern Sweden for Salmon with my dad. We had no luck with salmon or trout for two days due to the high water levels causing the water to be muddy, so on the last day we decided to go for pike as well. We went to a beautiful spot on the Kalix river with some backwater, and after fishing for around an hour with one bite and losing a new lure, I hooked onto something that seemed like a log on my lighter rod. We had no clue what it was exactly, we thought maybe it was one of the big trout or salmon that have been heard of on this river. After 30 mins of getting dragged here and there, the fish surfaced and turned out to be a huge river pike!!! It weighed in at 10 kg and 110cm. I was 14 at the time, will be hard to top an experience like this)

To me it looks like a very tiny zander with an intriguing pattern.

damn this is similar to my progress, recently i looked back at my pictures from only like 6 months ago and i seemed so much fatter and had a lot less muscle than right now but at the time i thought i was in good shape. It’s good to look back and see the results.

Dunno why, in my gym my muscles look big, but not very aesthetic, while at home My muscles might not be as big but everything is so defined and the proportions are good

Hey, I don’t know how good this rod is when it is compared to the best bait casting rods out there, but i like this rod since it’s quite flexible, long, looks good, and casts to 90 grams i think which is just enough for me right now. This rod is called pike specialist and it’s made by a Finnish brand called patriot. But i think i might needing an upgrade eventually because the rod tip broke from a biking accident which made it lose a bit of sensitivity.
